The Executive Office

The Executive Office plays an integral role in setting and advancing Goldman Sachs' corporate strategy, and in preserving the firm's distinctive culture. We are responsible for safeguarding the firm's relationship with alumni, clients, shareholders, policy makers, and the broader public, while ensuring that our own people remain informed about the firm's evolving priorities. We also partner with the businesses to source high-impact opportunities in line with the firm's social and sustainability agendas.

Our Executive Office is a group of teams that shapes corporate strategy, culture, and brand. Whether communicating with employees, managing our brand, or articulating our strategy to investors and analysts, our work directly impacts how the firm is viewed by a variety of crucial stakeholders. Office of the Chairman

The Office of the Chairman oversees internal and external key strategic initiatives across the firm, including Goldman Sachs’ communications and investor, government, community and client engagement. Within the Office of the Chairman, the Client Strategy Group works closely with Goldman Sachs executives to prioritize and organize their interactions in support of these initiatives

Vice President, Speaker and Conference Strategy

Overview

In this role, you will architect and execute a unified, firmwide vision for Goldman Sachs’ flagship conferences, cultural moments, and thought leadership platforms. Operating as a senior, intellectually curious strategist and execution partner, you will bridge global business units to align external speaker engagement with core business priorities. You will lead external speaker engagement, drive content innovation, and manage high-touch relationships with global experts, executive audiences, and external talent agencies to elevate the firm's brand on the world stage.

At its core, this role is about curating cutting edge content and leading experts in a variety of fields (to include geopolitics, AI, emerging technologies, sports, arts & music, media and culture among others) to create meaningful executive experiences and elevate engagements to the standard of Goldman excellence. Our firm is fast-paced and ever evolving, this role requires someone dynamic, sharp, and hands-on, demanding proactive research, sound judgment, and building strong relationships across the firm and with our external partners.

Strategic Vision & Content Leadership

  • Architect of Global Conference  & Speaker Strategy: Help drive the firm’s external engagement and content strategy, positioning Goldman Sachs as a premier thought leader and convener on critical global themes (e.g., Geopolitics, AI, Sport, and Emerging Technologies).
  • Curate World-Class Expert Talent: Proactively build and maintain a pipeline of leading global experts, cultural icons, and industry disruptors to align with the firm's strategic priorities delivering world-class content to our clients and audiences.
  • Executive Storytelling: Produce high-impact, sophisticated content, briefing papers, and session themes tailored for executive and global client audiences. A strong applicant will have expertise in curating executive level session content, questions, and briefing papers. 

Cross-Divisional Collaboration & Advisory

  • Unify the "One GS" Approach: Act as the primary bridge across global business units to align divisional event objectives into a cohesive, firmwide conference strategy, ensuring businesses have the insight required to prioritize flagship conferences.
  • Strategic Advisory: Partner with internal stakeholders to advise on content development and external speaker engagement, and coordinate senior leadership participation.
  • Content Amplification: Institutionalize processes to repackage, repurpose, and distribute high-value content across diverse internal and external channels working with key GS stakeholders. 

Talent Agency & Relationship Management

  • Direct the Talent & Speakers Bureau: Serve as the strategic "market-maker" matching internal subject matter needs with external speakers for high-priority global programming.
  • Agency & Talent Relations: Manage end-to-end relationships with external speaker bureaus, talent agencies, and publishers, overseeing complex fee negotiations, detailed contracts, and compliance clearances.

Platform Innovation & Governance

  • Own the Approvals Process: Lead the global external speaker approval process end-to-end, serving as the Executive Office's primary reviewer and risk control function.
  • Drive Platform Adoption:  Oversee the Speaker and Event Engagement Hub (SEEH), directing firmwide training, change management, and system compliance.
  • Leverage Emerging Tech: Partner with internal stakeholders and engineering to integrate AI, Salesforce, and advance data storage mechanisms to drive automation, data dashboards and analytics. 

Qualifications

  • 10–12+ years of experience in conference strategy, executive events and experiences content development, communications, corporate affairs, talent relations, or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering high-profile thought leadership platforms and executive experiences.
  • Exceptional executive communication and storytelling skills, including experience developing briefing materials, session themes, discussion guides, speaker questions, presentations, and client-ready content for senior audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify emerging trends and curate world-class content and external experts across topics including geopolitics, artificial intelligence, technology, business, sports, media, culture, and global affairs.
  • Proven experience building and managing relationships with senior executives, external thought leaders, speaker bureaus, talent agencies, publishers, and other strategic partners.
  • Exceptional project management and operating rigor, with experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives, managing budgets, coordinating stakeholders, and driving execution in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience overseeing governance, approvals, compliance, and risk management processes related to external engagements, speaker participation, and reputational considerations.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, data analytics, AI-enabled tools, Microsoft Office and content distribution strategies, with a demonstrated ability to leverage technology to improve efficiency, reporting, audience insights, and engagement outcomes.

Salary Range 
The expected base salary for this New York, NY, United States-based position is $125000-$250000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
