The Expense and Treasury Finance Accounting team is part of the Corporate Accounting organization and is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of Blackstone Treasury’s investing, funding, liquidity, hedging, and intercompany activities. The team partners broadly across the firm on matters including financial planning and analysis, reconciliations, complex transactions, SEC and regulatory disclosures, hedge accounting, financial instrument valuation, and investment portfolio reporting. In addition, the team manages the firm’s expense allocation framework and lease accounting processes. Through close collaboration with key stakeholders across Finance and the business units, the team drives strategic innovation and develops reporting and workflow solutions by leveraging technology and external vendors to improve efficiency, transparency, and data integrity. Interaction with other finance groups is extensive as part of day‑to‑day operations as well as key strategic initiatives.

Opportunity Details & Responsibilities

The Vice President will serve as a senior leader within the Expense and Treasury Accounting team and will be responsible for:

  • Leading, coaching, and developing a high‑performing team responsible for treasury and expense accounting activities.
  • Identifying operational efficiencies and driving process enhancements, while partnering with Technology teams to implement scalable solutions that streamline processes and improve data integrity.
  • Overseeing accounting and reporting for treasury activities including investments, funding structures, liquidity management, hedging activities, and intercompany arrangements.
  • Managing external and internal management reporting related to treasury and expense activities, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Enhancing, developing, and maintaining the accounting module of the Treasury Management System, including driving greater transparency and process improvements.
  • Partnering with FP&A to support P&L forecasting, variance analysis, and financial insights related to treasury and expense activity.
  • Collaborating with business units and finance partners to ensure accuracy of underlying data, effective operational coordination, and timely settlements.
  • Overseeing complex treasury arrangements and ensuring accurate accounting, reporting, and transparency of associated exposures.
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors to support the completion of stand‑alone financial statements and related audit requirements.
  • Managing SOX compliance and overseeing the design and effectiveness of internal controls related to treasury and expense processes.
  • Managing foreign exchange risk and the corporate hedging program for applicable entities.
  • Ensuring strong financial controls, including timely reconciliation of cash accounts and settlement of intercompany balances.

Desired Skill Sets & Traits

  • 12+ years of treasury accounting, expense accounting, or relevant industry experience.
  • CPA required.
  • Public accounting experience required.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience coaching and developing high‑performing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including accounting and SEC reporting requirements for investments and financial instruments.
  • Experience preparing financial schedules and supporting materials for SEC filings.
  • Broad knowledge of U.S. market practices and financial products across fixed income, equities, and derivatives.
  • Knowledge of foreign exchange hedging strategies and related accounting considerations.
  • Self‑starter with strong intellectual curiosity, a solution‑oriented mindset, and a focus on continuous process improvement.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and influence across teams and stakeholders.

Expected annual base salary range:

$150,000 - $250,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone’s sole discretion.
