Sr. Associate, Financial Due Diligence
About the Role
Yieldstreet’s Investment Team is looking for a Senior Associate responsible for financial due diligence to join our Private Business Credit vertical. You will report to the Senior Director, Head of Underwriting and play an integral part in the growth of Yieldstreet's Private Business Credit asset class. You will be responsible for financial analytics and due diligence related to new and existing transactions including financial statement review and analysis, collateral analyses (particularly accounts receivable performance modeling), forensic accounting reviews, test systems and controls over significant balance sheet and income statement accounts, ongoing quarterly net asset valuations, monthly covenant compliance testing and weekly borrowing base roll forward analysis. You will work collaboratively with the internal performance management team and external auditors. Since our May 2020 launch, Yieldstreet Private Business Credit has originated $150M in new investments to growing consumer and commercial finance companies, making us one of the market leaders in specialty finance. Our investment structures include participations, direct loans and leases, and asset acquisitions.

Private Business Credit is headquartered in New York City with offices in Fort Collins, Colorado and Herndon, Virginia. While we are currently working remotely due to the pandemic, this role requires you to be located within a commutable distance from one of these three locations.
What you'll do:
- Conduct originator, borrower and guarantor due diligence, including analysis of transaction structure, counterparty creditworthiness, and quality of collateral pledged as security.
- Underwrite the performance of accounts receivable, inventory and/or equipment collateral from a credit perspective, including remote or onsite reviews of financial reporting systems tracking these assets.
- Prepare detailed financial models, including base case and downside case analytics, as an integral part of the credit underwriting and ongoing performance management processes for each individual transaction.
- Monitor financial and collateral performance of each transaction against plan for borrowing bases, financial results, model performance and compliance with credit agreements.
- Prepare quarterly net asset valuations on all assets under management working collaboratively with performance management and accounting teams.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of five years field examiner or accounting experience, preferably including two years of experience working directly with commercial lenders or asset-based lenders either internally or externally at accounting firms, due diligence firms or consulting firms
- Ability to analyze financial statements, construct cash flow models for asset portfolios, prepare quarterly net asset valuations, monitor borrowing base and financial covenant compliance and assess the quality and accuracy of financial accounting systems and controls
- Ability to assess risk exposure and accurately articulate a financial analysis in both verbal and written forms
- Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Deal execution mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; in depth knowledge of excel is critical
- Ability to work at the pace of a venture-backed hyper growth organization
- Flexible and dynamic capacity to multitask in multiple sub asset classes of Private Business Credit vertical
Bonus points for:
- Experience in modeling projected financial performance of large portfolios of receivable assets, running base case and downside case scenarios
- CPA or MBA in finance/accounting or completion of a formal Bank Credit Training Program
