Our Accounting Manager is excited to bring on a Staff Accountant that is eager to learn and ready to grow!
This is an opportunity to become a key contributor at a rapidly scaling pre-IPO tech company. The Staff Accountant will have the opportunity to learn how a best-in-class SaaS business operates and touch a number of areas within the Accounting function. You will play a key role in supporting the Accounting team while contributing to the company’s effort to build processes scalable for Sisense’s rapid growth. Working cross-functionally, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with colleagues across the company as you support the Accounting Manager in managing the daily accounting operations, reconciliations and month end close process.
What you will do in the first 30 days
- Independently navigate between accounting systems: Netsuite, Zuora, Salesforce, Expensify and ADP (to name just a few)
- Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g. by assets, liabilities and expenses)
- Perform and assist with account reconciliations and analysis during month-end close
What you will do in the first 60 days
- Perform all cash account reconciliations for all relevant bank accounts
- Assist with payroll operations, including back-end accounting tasks
- Collaborate with various teams within the organization to improve overall efficiency
What you will do in the first 90 days
- Prepare, examine and interpret financial statements.
- Document accounting policies, procedures and workflow
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and start to think about process improvements.
Ongoing responsibilities
- Assist with IPO readiness and support day to day accounting functions
- Assist with the month-end closing process, conducting research and making correction journal entries for account discrepancies, prepare closing journal entries, post accrual entries, and prepare financial statements.
- Managing financial reports, records, and accounts reconciliations
- Ad hoc analysis and reporting requests from leadership
- Identify issues and errors and bring to attention of leadership
- Streamline, automate, develop and implement best practice accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes when needed
- Assist in the preparation of the annual audit

- You have knowledge of GAAP, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements
- You have a “can-do” attitude and love thinking of ways to constantly improve processes
- You have demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- You pride yourself on your strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- You thrive in fast-paced environments
- You are known for your attention to detail and ability to handle confidential material
- You have experience with NetSuite (preferred)
