Responsible for providing AML and Sanctions compliance support the Securities business in the U.S. and Canada. This role will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all matters for AML/BSA compliance and be the contact for Sanctions related matters for MUFG Securities Americas.
Responsibilities:- Provides full advisory services to First and Second Lines of Defense on all applicable money laundering and sanctions risk, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, FINRA and U.S. Treasury AML guidelines.
- Analyzes and documents acceptance of risk for high-risk customers. Advises the First Line of Defense on policy and procedure requirements.
- Participates in FCC Risk Assessments for assigned product or function to mitigate FCC exposure.
- Analyzes FCC findings to further understand where FCC risk is emerging within the bank’s customer portfolio.
- Implements controls to respond to FCC findings that mitigate FCC risk.
- Review existing FCC Program documents to ensure that they are effective and account for current or emerging risk.
- Develop and design training that ensures employees are receiving effective training to maintain awareness about FCC risk and the appropriate ways to effectively mitigate or escalate FCC risk.
- Suggest improvements to the AML control process that increase the processes strength while maintaining efficiency.
Understanding of FCC risks that presents itself in the form of complex and layered business ownership and relationships including corporate structures involving off-shore entities, funds, broker dealers and agents.
Possesses a strong AML background, with knowledge of Markets, financial institutions, corporate advisory, wholesale lending, project finance, and the structures of these transactions and relationships.
Demonstrated knowledge in risks that institutional investor relationships and products can pose for AML and Sanctions risks.
Demonstrated knowledge of investment products and services, including but not limited to, bonds, equities, FX, derivatives, swaps, project finance, commodities and structured finance, and securitization.
Demonstrated knowledge in risks that institutional investor relationships and products can pose for AML/Sanctions risks.
Understands the FCC risk that presents itself in Markets products and services including, but not limited to, foreign exchange, securities trading, asset management, low priced securities.
Minimum of 6 years of experience within securities, with a strong emphasis on BSA, AML and OFAC laws and regulations.
Candidates must have AML experience within the Markets. CAMS certification preferred but not required.
Experience in analyzing or managing financial crime investigative processes and policies (i.e. KYC, SARs, etc). Experience interacting with senior managers and compliance subject matter experts
Collaborative with strong interpersonal communication skills. Process oriented coupled with a strong ability to develop appropriate program enhancing strategies. Detail-oriented and organized execution.
Bachelors degree and/or equivalent relevant experience.
The typical base pay range for this role is $120,000 to $151,000 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
