A World-Changing Company
Palantir builds the world’s leading software for data-driven decisions and operations. By bringing the right data to the people who need it, our platforms empower our partners to develop lifesaving drugs, forecast supply chain disruptions, locate missing children, and more.
Forward Deployed Engineering is a radical commitment to the outcome. This is Palantir’s operating ethos. We represent a departure from the traditional software delivery paradigm, which hinges on selling prepackaged solutions and doing what is minimally viable to accrue revenue.
From hospital to factory floors, Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) embed themselves in the customer’s reality fully, until the problem is theirs. This requires walking many miles in a customer’s shoes, having the agency to build past the perimeter of what a product currently offers, and deviating from every existing formula to win. It requires delivering real outcomes.
FDEs do not operate within the product’s existing boundaries. They push past them, rewrite them, or discard them entirely — because the playbook is irrelevant if it doesn’t win.
You are allowed expected to use your agency.
You are allowed expected to respect the problem.
You are allowed expected to run towards the fire.

Core Responsibilities
To turn AI into meaningful value for an enterprise. To deliver tangible outcomes. To ruthlessly seek out the ground truth and build opinionated solutions.
As a New Grad, you will be entrusted with responsibility on day 1. You will not be handed a ticket queue. You will not be shielded from the customer, the chaos, or the consequences. FDEs are entrusted with real ownership, operating with real autonomy, and held to a real standard, no matter their tenure.
The work is difficult. The stakes are not simulated. You will work in small, high-trust teams and own projects end-to-end, from the first conversation with a customer to shipping the product that changes how they operate:

The work is difficult. The stakes are not simulated. You will work in small, high-trust teams and own projects end-to-end, from the first conversation with a customer to shipping the product that changes how they operate:
- Sitting alongside engineers to make architecture and design decisions
- Wrestling with data at a scale that breaks assumptions and demands invention
- Building custom applications, LLM workflows, and production solutions engineered for a specific customer's reality, not a generic use case
- Owning relationships with stakeholders from the users in the weeds to the executives making the calls
What We Value
- You travel when the work requires it — client sites are where the real problems live. Expect 25–50% travel, depending on team and location.
- You want to iterate and deploy production solutions with Gen AI that have consequence and enable true enterprise growth
- You learn continuously, make decisions with incomplete information, and don't wait to be told what to do next.
- You operate effectively in teams that mix technical and non-technical people, in environments where the objectives shift and the users push back.
- You solve hard technical problems — data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks — not because you were assigned to, but because that's what closing the gap requires.
- You are drawn to large-scale data not as an abstraction, but as the actual lever for solving problems that matter.
Credentials are not the point. Drive is.
What We Require
- Engineering degree, preferred in fields such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Physics, and Data Science.
- Proficiency with one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar.
- Graduation in Fall 2027 or Spring 2028.
- Availability to intern for 12 weeks during summer 2027 between May and September.
To apply, please submit the following:
- An updated resume / CV - please do so in PDF format.
- Thoughtful responses to our application questions.
