About Currence

Currence is an AI-native market intelligence company for the teams that finance and build the energy system. We help investors, developers, corporates, and advisors navigate the largest capital deployment cycle in a generation, across power, grid infrastructure, data centers, fuels, and the wider physical economy.

We combine the speed of AI with the trust of expert research. Our AI data engine pulls from thousands of sources to build one view of companies, projects, deals, tech, policies, and costs. Our analysts build the models behind our proprietary data and insights: cost models, credibility scores, forecasts, and vendor rankings.

That maps to the decisions these teams make every day: sizing up vendors and partners, benchmarking economics, forecasting, and choosing where to build, buy, or invest next.

We're headquartered in New York and London, and recently rebranded from Sightline to Currence.

The Role

We're hiring a Founding Customer Success Manager to get deep inside our customer accounts and drive engagement with our customers, to make sure the vision we sold actually gets delivered.

This is a hands-on, in-the-accounts role. You'll work hand in hand with our Account Managers. You'll own the renewal outright on a defined set of accounts, and on the accounts an Account Manager owns, you drive the activation and engagement those renewals depend on. Either way, you're responsible for onboarding, training, connecting customers to our analysts and research, and making sure they're getting what they came for.

This is also a build-it role to create the CS playbook, health scoring, and engagement cadence as you go. We're looking for someone with a builder mentality who finds that exciting.

What You'll Do
  • Own renewals. Manage the end-to-end renewal process for your book of accounts, forecast accurately, and close on time.

  • Drive activation everywhere else. On accounts owned by an Account Manager, own the engagement the renewal rests on, and give them a clear picture of value delivered and where the risk sits.

  • Drive retention. Proactively monitor account health, spot risk early, and take action before it becomes churn.

  • Drive adoption. Onboard new users, drive usage of the platform, and make sure customers are realizing value from Currence's data and insights.

  • Connect customers to our research team. Facilitate day-to-day interactions with our analysts and content, and get the right expert in front of the right question.

  • Build relationships. Become the trusted point of contact for your accounts, understanding their workflows and where Currence fits into their day-to-day.

  • Be the voice of the customer internally. Bring back what you're hearing on product, research coverage, and gaps, on a regular cadence.

  • Design an AI-assisted coverage model. Use AI tooling to scale the customer success function on top of a wider book than a CS person could manage a few years ago.

What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)
  • We are materially more embedded across the customer base, with a real, regular cadence in place

  • Customers know you by name and come to you first

  • Adoption clearly trending up, with usage data to show it

  • Renewals on your own book forecast accurately and closed on time

  • On AM-owned accounts, no renewal is a surprise; value delivered and risk are visible well before the conversation

  • A first grounded view of what customer health actually looks like here, built from real account experience rather than theory

  • A steady stream of customer feedback reaching our product and research teams

Who You Are
  • 2 to 4 years in customer success, account management, client service, or another customer-facing role in a subscription, data, or research business

  • A builder. You've made process where none existed, and you'd rather create the playbook than inherit one

  • Hungry, and genuinely want to be in the accounts. This is a doing role first

  • A strong communicator who builds trust quickly with sophisticated buyers across energy, infrastructure, and financial services

  • Organized enough to run a consistent cadence across a large book without letting anything slip

  • Curious about the market. You'll be talking with customers about power, grids, data centers, and fuels, and you want to learn it properly

  • AI-native in how you work, and interested in using it to cover more ground

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where the process often doesn't exist yet, and self-directed enough not to need much hand-holding

Bonus, not required: a background in energy, power, infrastructure, or market intelligence; experience with data or research subscriptions; familiarity with investor or corporate buyers.

Compensation & Benefits
  • NY: Base salary range of $80,000 to $100,000, depending on experience and location.

  • Performance-based variable compensation of 10 to 15% of base, based on retention performance

  • Meaningful equity

  • Benefits package including healthcare, dental, and 401(k)

  • PTO plus bank/federal holidays

Process

Intro call, interview with commercial leadership, a short case exercise grounded in a real customer scenario, references, then an offer. We aim to keep the process quick and to keep you in the loop throughout.

Currence is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate candidates on merit and welcome applicants of every background.
