Who we are

Tabbed is changing the way people pay in restaurants. We built the first spatial recognition payment layer for hospitality: guests are automatically linked to their check the second they order and have their bills paid automatically when they finish. No QR codes, no card reader, no friction. Restaurants get faster turns, higher tips, and a guest intelligence layer that makes every visit feel personal. We're in some of the best rooms in New York City and we're just getting started.

The Role

Tabbed is transitioning away from founder-led sales and is looking for a candidate ready to help build out our outbound sales team. We have an SDR on our team you will work closely with, helping them grow as a salesperson and taking their warm leads to close.

This is an in-person, high-agency, full-cycle sales role based in New York targeting the best restaurants in the city. You will need an in-depth understanding of the New York City restaurant scene: the big players, the politics, and the trends in the neighborhoods.

You will prospect your own leads from our database and cultivate meaningful relationships with restaurant owners, managers, and leaders.

This is not a standard tech sales role. Selling restaurants is real work. Owners are not sitting at a desk, and decision makers are not on the computer scrolling through LinkedIn. This is in-person, in-the-field, tactical sales. You are expected to bring in new logos, sell mid-market groups, navigate obscure organizational structures, and maintain those relationships as we build out our customer success team.

What you'll do

New Business and Closed Wins

  • Organize and prioritize restaurant pipeline opportunities based on company objectives: more bars in the East Village, full-service fine dining in Midtown, etc.

  • Own deals from first meeting until close and beyond. Discovery, pitch, signature, walking them through onboarding, ensuring a smooth Tabbed launch.

  • Work with the SDR on territory prioritization and help shape outreach targeting based on your industry knowledge.

  • Run a consultative sales process: understand what each restaurant needs and show them how Tabbed can help.

Account Expansion

  • Visit existing Tabbed locations to understand the web of industry connections under the roof and turn that network into a solid pipeline.

  • Understand what's working and what is not with the product inside our restaurants to further tighten our pitch and ideal customer profile.

  • Cultivate referrals from happy customers and take the new accounts through our sales cycle to close.

What we're looking for

  • 2 or more years in an outbound restaurant sales role

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, early-stage startup

  • Self-starter who does not wait to be told what to do

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university

  • Proven ability to run a deal from first meeting through close — you are comfortable owning the full sales motion

  • Born leader, ready to help build our future sales team and lift up current sales employees

  • Demonstrable experience building and maintaining professional relationships

  • Strong communicator, comfortable with executives, building managers, office admins, and community leaders alike

  • Highly organized: able to juggle a live pipeline, field visits, marketing activations, and outreach at the same time

Who You Are

  • Social, outgoing, and energized by meeting new people and forming new working relationships

  • Motivated by growth outcomes: you like owning a milestone and completing it

  • Entrepreneurial: you take bold bets and move fast

  • Naturally curious and opportunity-oriented: you see angles others miss

  • You love your city and want to build something that makes it better

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and wearing many hats

  • Thrive outside of the 9 to 5: eager to build relationships with external stakeholders in the places they actually are

Why join Tabbed

  • Young, hungry team, backed by industry veterans in the best city on earth

  • Own your city: take full ownership of your city's performance and see the direct results of your ideas and execution every single day.

  • Grow with us: there's room to grow, personally and professionally, as we scale and take on new challenges together.

What else you need to know

This role is based in New York, in our office and on the streets. Close collaboration with CS, ENG, and leadership is essential to helping us build the growth engine our product is capable of.

The base salary range for this role is $85,000 - $125,000 per year.

Add'l Incentive Compensation: Individuals can expect significant win-based compensation tied to the quality of accounts closed. OTE far exceeds $200,000 per year.

Benefits Summary

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance from Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • Optional supplemental life insurance for self, spouse, and children

  • Restaurant field expense account

  • 401(k)

  • Health Savings Account

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Minimum 14 vacation days required

  • Full holiday calendar

  • Equinox membership

Benefits are subject to change at the company's discretion.
