A Company That Matters

Insurance exists to support people at their most vulnerable – after loss, illness, or crisis. Yet too often, the systems behind it fail when they’re needed most. ClaimSorted is fixing that.

ClaimSorted is rebuilding how insurance claims get handled. We run the entire claims operation for insurers – a model called Third-Party Administration (TPA), in a ~$200B industry that has barely changed in decades. We pair a world-class in-house claims team with an AI-native platform to deliver faster resolutions, better outcomes, and a fundamentally more humane experience for policyholders.

Backed by Y Combinator, Atomico, and Eurazeo, we’ve raised $15M+ and already manage claims for over $200M in insurance premium across 50+ partners, including more than five publicly traded companies. The traction is real. The mission is urgent. And we’re just getting started.

The Role

People are the only thing that will determine whether ClaimSorted wins. Your job is to find those people – the ones who are exceptional, who care about the work, and who raise the bar for everyone around them.

As our first Talent hire, you’ll work directly with the founders to build the recruiting engine from scratch. You’ll embed deeply with every team – engineering, sales, claims, operations – internalising what great looks like in each context, and relentlessly hunting for the people who embody it. The demands are intense and the stakes are real. If that energises you, you’ll thrive here.

Responsibilities
  • Own the entire hiring lifecycle end-to-end, from writing compelling job descriptions and engineering our referral network, to designing interview processes that surface real signal, closing exceptional candidates, and constantly evaluating where the system is strong or vulnerable

  • Surface exceptional talent through any means necessary – referrals, outbound sourcing, creative discovery, and building relationships with people long before a role is open

  • Build the people infrastructure that enables everyone else to do their best work – from onboarding and HR processes to performance management, so every new hire hits the ground running

Requirements
  • 2 - 7 years of recruiting experience, ideally in a fast growing start-up

  • Willing to work 5 days in office in New York or London

  • A track record of building recruiting systems and processes from the ground up, and the drive to break them apart and evolve them when the terrain changes

  • Strong sourcing instincts across disciplines and seniority levels, with the ability to spot exceptional people that others miss

  • Extraordinary communication and interpersonal skills: you build genuine relationships and know how to make the right people excited about the right opportunity

  • Experience hiring engineers and technical talent in high-performance environments is strongly preferred

Benefits
  • Competitive salary beyond the industry standard

  • Quarterly performance bonus: up to 15% of quarterly salary

  • Equity participation: stock options as an early-stage team member

  • Medical insurance

  • 401(k) with 4% company match

  • Accelerated promotion track in a high-growth environment
