Overview

We are looking to bring on a FP&A manager to act as a strategic partner to the business as we go to market and scale the company. We are currently using an outsourced firm for this work, and in this role you will be responsible for brining the corporate finance function in-house.

Work to Be Done

Instead of a list of requirements, we want to give you a directional look into the first 30, 90, and 180 days on the job.

First 30 Days: Foundation & Assessment
  • Budget Process Setup: Take over monthly budget vs. actual analysis and establish regular reporting cadence with department heads

  • Financial Systems Familiarization: Learn current accounting workflows, understand how entries hit different accounts, and map existing financial reporting processes

  • Product & Business Model Deep Dive: Shadow customer meetings and product launches to understand revenue streams and cost structures

  • Cross-functional Partnerships: Establish working relationships with Product, Engineering, and GTM teams for future pricing and margin modeling work

  • Immediate Support: Help with vendor spend analysis and card program management

First 90 Days: Process Implementation & Ownership
  • Budget & Forecasting Leadership: Own the complete budget process, develop quarterly rolling forecasts for revenue, expenses, and cash flows

  • Customer Profitability Modeling: Build financial models to analyze profitability by customer segment and product line, supporting GTM strategy

  • Strategic Planning Support: Begin contributing to scenario analysis and long-term planning initiatives alongside treasury operations

  • Vendor Management: Streamline vendor onboarding processes and optimize spend across the organization

  • Financial Reporting: Create standardized monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for leadership team

First 180 Days: Strategic Impact & Scaling
  • Multi-year Financial Modeling: Own the comprehensive cash flow model and burn forecast that supports fundraising and investor communications

  • Pricing Strategy Partnership: Lead pricing and margin modeling projects with GTM and Product teams for new product launches

  • Board & Investor Materials: Prepare financial sections of board decks and investor updates, supporting capital raising activities

  • Legal Entity Planning: Support capital allocation decisions and structure planning as the business scales

  • Process Automation: Implement systems and processes that can scale with rapid headcount growth, reducing manual financial operations
