Since 2017, Flourish has been on a mission to help financial advisors evolve from holistic advice to holistic implementation to better serve their clients and grow their businesses. We focus on independent Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), delivering financial products that advisors can’t easily access today through beautiful, scalable, and easy-to-use technology.

Today, we work with over 1,100 RIAs that collectively represent more than $2.6T in assets under management across two products: Flourish Cash and Flourish Lending. Headquartered in New York City, we are an independently-operating, wholly-owned subsidiary of MassMutual Life Insurance Company.

Read on if you are interested in joining a dynamic, highly-collaborative, rapidly-growing startup—backed by the support and stability of a Fortune 500 company.

About You

You are a thoughtful, analytical, and highly accountable professional who is comfortable operating at the intersection of fraud risk, anti-money laundering, and financial crime. You are naturally curious and enjoy digging into data, transactions, customer activity, and other available information to understand what happened and determine the appropriate response.

You exercise sound judgment and know when an issue requires urgency or escalation. You are comfortable making decisions with imperfect information, while maintaining thorough and precise documentation. You are also a critical thinker who looks beyond individual alerts and investigations to identify patterns, emerging risks, and opportunities to strengthen the broader Fraud and AML programs.

Most importantly, you are excited to join a collaborative team where you can develop deep expertise in financial crimes while helping Flourish continually evolve its controls as our business, products, risks, and regulatory obligations change.

About the Role

As a Fraud and AML Analyst, you will be part of Flourish's Risk Team and will work closely with Flourish's Legal and Compliance Team to support the company's Fraud, Anti-Money Laundering ("AML"), Bank Secrecy Act ("BSA"), sanctions, and broader financial crimes programs.

You will be responsible for reviewing and investigating Fraud and AML alerts, analyzing customer and transaction activity, documenting investigative findings, and escalating potentially suspicious or higher-risk activity when appropriate. This includes supporting AML transaction monitoring and other reviews required under Flourish's AML, BSA, sanctions, and related compliance programs, as well as managing fraud alerts and investigations across the customer lifecycle.

The role requires both thoughtful analysis and the ability to act with urgency. Fraud investigations may involve active or attempted movement of customer or company assets, and you will be expected to quickly assess available information, identify potential risks, escalate appropriately, and help determine when additional controls or restrictions may be warranted.

Beyond individual investigations, you will help maintain and continuously improve Flourish's Fraud and AML monitoring programs. Working with the broader Risk and Legal and Compliance teams, you will analyze alert and investigation outcomes, evaluate the effectiveness of existing rules and thresholds, identify emerging fraud and financial crime risks, and help ensure Flourish's monitoring and controls continue to evolve alongside the company's risk profile and regulatory obligations.

Principal Responsibilities

As a Fraud and AML Analyst, you will collaborate with members of the Risk and Legal and Compliance teams, as well as internal business partners. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Review and investigate Fraud and AML alerts, analyzing relevant customer information and activity to identify potential fraud, money laundering, sanctions concerns, or other financial crime risks.
  • Conduct AML transaction monitoring and other reviews in support of Flourish’s AML, BSA, sanctions, and related compliance programs.
  • Investigate potential fraud, document findings, and escalate higher-risk or time-sensitive matters appropriately.
  • Support the ongoing maintenance and improvement of Fraud and AML monitoring rules and controls, including identifying trends, recurring patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor emerging fraud and money laundering risks and relevant regulatory developments, and help the broader Risk and Legal and Compliance teams assess their potential impact on Flourish.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring Fraud and AML risk assessments, metrics, business awareness, and education needs.
  • Assist with internal audits, external reviews, regulatory inquiries, and examinations related to Fraud, AML, BSA, sanctions, and other financial crime matters.
  • Work with teams across Flourish to investigate and address Fraud, AML, and other financial crime risks.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in fraud, anti-money laundering, regulatory compliance, risk, operations, or a related function within financial services.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, precise, and thorough investigative documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple priorities and time-sensitive matters.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate information, identify potential risks, and reach well-supported conclusions.
  • Sound judgment, including the ability to recognize when matters require additional investigation, escalation, or urgent attention.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing fraud risks, regulatory requirements, industry developments, and business needs.
  • Highest ethical standards, strong work ethic, and a sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Must be able to pass a background check required under FINRA rules.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience or familiarity with fraud investigations, AML transaction monitoring, customer due diligence, sanctions, or other financial crime reviews.
  • Knowledge of or exposure to BSA/AML requirements and relevant FINRA, FinCEN, OFAC, or other financial services regulatory requirements.
