Front End Developer

If you grew up on the Internet like us, you know mental health is more important than ever. But many people face obstacles when seeking traditional mental health care, like finding the right support or having the right insurance.

At Healthy Gamer, we think modern mental health care should be inclusive and affordable. Our coaching service has helped over 13,000 people across 77 countries since it launched in November 2019. Our movement is gaining traction, putting us in the top 0.1% of Twitch streamers and the top 1% of YouTube channels. And we’re working on even more resources to help people find a way forward when they need it.

We’ve made an impact in the gaming community, but that’s not where our mission ends. We want to change how people think about and deal with mental health, and we’re looking for passionate people to help us get there. We are building teams of the best and the brightest in mental wellness, and we are having fun doing it.

The Front-End Developer is responsible for building intuitive, performant, and accessible user interfaces that bring our products to life. You’ll work closely with product, design, and backend engineering to translate ideas and requirements into polished, user-centered experiences.

This role is ideal for someone who cares deeply about usability and quality, enjoys collaborating across disciplines, and thrives in an environment where ownership and continuous improvement are valued.

Product & Feature Development

• Build, maintain, and improve user-facing features using modern front-end technologies.
• Translate product requirements and design mockups into clean, scalable, and reusable code.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver high-quality features end-to-end.
• Ensure consistent implementation of design systems and UI standards across the product.
  

Performance, Quality & Accessibility

• Optimize applications for performance, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.
  Write maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
• Ensure accessibility best practices (WCAG) are incorporated into front-end development.
• Identify and address technical debt and front-end architecture improvements.
  

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Participate in sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and release cycles.
• Contribute to front-end best practices, tooling decisions, and technical standards.
• Debug and resolve front-end issues across environments.
• Stay current with evolving front-end technologies and frameworks and apply learnings where appropriate.

• 3+ years of professional experience as a front end or full stack developer.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with at least one front-end framework such as React, Vue, or similar (Svelte preferred).
• Familiarity with responsive design, component-based architecture, and design systems.
• Experience working with REST APIs and integrating front-end applications with backend services.
• Comfortable collaborating with designers using tools like Figma.
• Strong attention to detail with a user-first mindset.
• Clear communicator who works well in cross-functional teams.
  

• Experience with TypeScript.
• Experience implementing browser-side analytics with tools like Google Tag Manager or Amplitude
• Experience with at least one testing framework, Rspec or Jest preferred
• Exposure to accessibility standards and inclusive design.
• Experience in healthcare, mental health, or regulated environments.
• Experience in a startup or scaling product team.
