The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Craft and ship polished, high-performance web interfaces for a complex application, taking ownership from early prototype through production. Work side by side with design, product and backend colleagues to make technical capabilities feel simple to use.
What you'll do
- Take ownership of the web client codebase, covering main dashboards and new user journeys.
- Partner with designers to deliver interfaces that are intuitive, fast and accessible.
- Build a library of reusable, scalable components in React and TypeScript to support future growth.
- Prototype ideas quickly, test assumptions and release in small increments.
- Strengthen the client application's speed, stability and consistency as the product grows.
- Work with product, infrastructure and backend engineers to turn complicated technical processes into clear screens.
- Lift the quality bar on the team through thoughtful peer review and design conversations.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- 4 to 8 years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years building large-scale web front ends.
- A recent track record of 2 or more years at a high-growth startup with a strong engineering bar, or an equivalent record of achievement such as founding a successful company or building impressive personal projects.
- Advanced skill in React and TypeScript, plus Next.js and core web platform knowledge.
- A history of releasing and supporting sophisticated, interaction-heavy web products in production.
- Solid understanding of design systems, user experience principles and accessibility standards.
- Willingness to work across the stack when the situation calls for it.
- A strong sense of ownership and confidence making judgment calls where requirements are unclear.
- Clear written and spoken communication, including laying out trade-offs and building consensus.
- Enthusiasm for working in person at the office every day.
Bonus points
- Background with products that handle large volumes of data, tooling for developers or monitoring systems.
- Familiarity with live-updating interfaces or user experiences with unpredictable outputs.
- Early-stage startup experience in a role where design and engineering worked hand in hand.
- Good product instincts.
- Knowledge of Tailwind, React Native and responsive layouts.
- A personal website or portfolio of your work.
- Prior contributions to backend APIs or infrastructure tooling.
