Spotify’s Podcast Mission is building platform-grade support tooling to power high-priority podcast and video podcast distribution initiatives. The team enables large podcast networks and creators to distribute content on Spotify at scale, including within Spotify’s growing video podcast ecosystem. This work creates a unique need for robust, reliable internal tools that ensure smooth onboarding, integration, and ongoing operations for some of Spotify’s most important podcast partners. In addition, the team is unifying podcast support tooling across Spotify while building AI-powered, agent-based systems that automate operational workflows. These solutions apply AI techniques to tasks such as onboarding, issue resolution, and coordinating multi-step operational workflows across internal systems, enabling Spotify to support partners and creators more efficiently and optimally at scale. This work is a core part of the evolution of Spotify’s podcast platform.
In this role, you will work closely with backend engineers and SREs as well as the customer support team to design and build platform-grade tooling that runs in production and supports critical podcast workflows. You will contribute directly to Spotify’s podcast platform, taking ownership of systems that are used by internal teams and partners, and helping shape high-impact, high-visibility initiatives across the podcast ecosystem.
What You'll Do
- Design and build platform-grade support tooling that runs in production and supports critical podcast and video podcast workflows.
- Collaborate closely with backend engineers, SREs, and other podcast platform teams to deliver reliable, scalable systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders such as customer support team and product managers to understand user needs and translate them into effective, intuitive tooling.
- Collaborate with customer support teams to find solutions to problems creators may face.
- Drive the technical direction of new tooling, including applying AI-powered and agent-based approaches to automate and improve operational workflows.
- Improve operational excellence through better reliability, automation, and observability, and share best practices to set the standard across the organization.
Who You Are
- You have experience building and maintaining production frontend applications, and are comfortable working across the full stack when needed.
- You have a proven foundation in frontend development, including component-based architectures, state management, and working with APIs.
- You are familiar with backend systems and services, and are interested in growing your skills in platform and reliability-focused engineering while collaborating closely with backend specialists.
- You care about engineering best practices, automation, reliability, and observability, and want to build systems that are easy to operate and support.
- You enjoy collaborating in a team environment and are open to giving and receiving feedback as part of your growth as an engineer.
- You are curious about applying AI-powered or agent-based approaches to improve developer, support, or operational workflows.
- You have experience with some of the following technologies: React, TypeScript, Node.js, Java, and MySQL, with stronger depth on the frontend side.
- You enjoy working close to users and stakeholders to understand pain points and improve real-world workflows.
Where You'll Be
- We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! For this role, you can be within the North Americas region as long as we have a work location.
- This team operates within the Eastern Standard time zone for collaboration.
