Global EHS Lead

Job Description Summary

The role is a key member of the Thomson Reuters client account leadership team leading the Environmental, Health, Safety strategy (EHS) and holding dotted line to the Global Occupier Services (GOS) EHS Platform. The Global EHS Leader will
ensure regulatory requirements, client EHS systems, Service Level Agreements, Statements of Work, policies, and initiatives are integrated into C&W account operations.
Partners with internal and external stakeholders to ensure GOS has a well-designed process for EHS Governance and Risk Management. Serves as a lead EHS subject matter expert on: EHS management systems, technical standards, and best practices. The role will liaise with key Thomson Reuters representatives, GOS account teams to drive governance set by the Thomson Reuters the contract.

Job Description

  • Reports on EHS performance to the GOS Leadership team
  • Provides EHS support across services and projects to comply with local legislation, Thomson Reuters EHS management systems and EHS governance processes.
  • Creates Legal Compliance Reviews and provides consultation to support Global EHS legislation.
  • Develops EHS strategic objectives for ensuring operational excellence. ▪ Monitors, tracks, and reports on EHS KPI’s.
  • Implements EHS processes and systems in collaboration with GOS Account Leadership.
  • Provides technical advice, notifications of changes, and EHS governance that will impact service delivery and/or client occupancy.
  • Report on the implementation of EHS systems / processes across the Thomson Reuters portfolio to continuously improve the safe systems of work.
  • Provides guidance to the GOS Leadership team with supplier management.
  • Participates in internal and external EHS audit activities and contribute towards continuous improvement.
  • Ability to carry out incident investigation and root cause analysis, as it pertains to the built environment and relating to the IFM service being provided.
  • Supports the client’s Global Security, Health & Safety, and IFM Managers, as requested.
  • Plan and implement risk management, EHS process in alignment with all local country regulations, relating to the IFM service being provided.
  • Utilizes a regulatory compliance tool to ensure compliance across global real estate portfolio.

Qualifications, Competencies and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in EHS discipline or relevant scientific or engineering field.
  • Requires 15+ years of experience within the EHS profession.
  • 3+ years of experience managing global/international EHS policies, standards, programs, is desirable.
  • Demonstrable success in EHS systems management across multiple sites working with international teams.
  • Strong clients focus and customer experience mindset.
  • Experience in stakeholder and contractor management.
  • Demonstrated leadership, influencing and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to leverage office systems such as Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, etc.
  • The ability to travel domestically (approximately 15%). International travel is very limited.
  • Subject Matter Expertise in EHS and relevant Global Standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with hazardous/regulated waste management and environmental permitting s preferred.
  • Experience within Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) is desirable.
  • Candidates with experience in a Manufacturing setting are desirable.
  • Candidates with Professional Certifications (CSP, CIH, CHMM etc.) are desirable

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $136,000.00 - $160,000.00
