The Strategic Value team partners with GP Stakes portfolio firms to support growth, institutionalization and operating excellence by leveraging Blackstone’s platform, network, market insights and functional expertise.

The Analyst/Associate will play an important role in helping scale this platform by supporting high-priority initiatives across portfolio GP engagement, market intelligence, product strategy and cross-Blackstone connectivity.

The role will entail:

  • Driving research and analysis leveraging the full resources of Blackstone to advise portfolio GPs on growth and institutionalization initiatives
  • Advising portfolio GPs on product and fundraising strategy, including leading market analysis, benchmarking and marketing strategy development
  • Collaborating with various teams across Blackstone to generate insights for portfolio GPs across all functional areas, including distribution strategy, fund structuring, talent and organizational design, technology and generative AI, cybersecurity, finance, legal and compliance, capital markets, government relations, brand and communications strategy, and more
  • Engaging with portfolio GPs in both formal and ad hoc settings to deliver value and understand key firm priorities
  • Identifying and evaluating third parties that can deliver targeted solutions to portfolio GPs
  • Supporting GP Stakes-hosted forums, roundtables and thematic events by developing content, synthesizing insights and coordinating follow-up
  • Partnering with the full GP Stakes business and Blackstone fundraising teams to communicate the team’s competitive differentiation to prospective GPs and LPs
  • Supporting GP Stakes sourcing efforts through market mapping and various benchmarking analysis
  • Developing relationships with Blackstone domain experts across the firm

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing presentation materials, business plans, memos and other deliverables related to portfolio GP strategic initiatives
  • Maintaining pitch materials, internal marketing materials and Strategic Value Team collateral
  • Creating and maintaining proprietary playbooks on product strategies, distribution, fund structuring and operational best practices and considerations
  • Engaging with portfolio GPs on a regular basis to monitor business developments and fundraising progress
  • Delivering updates on strategic value activity with portfolio GPs to internal and external stakeholders
  • Supporting the development and execution of thought leadership events, forums and roundtables related to the Strategic Value program
  • Maintaining CRM-style documentation relating to portfolio GP engagement

Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, a successful candidate will have:

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in strategy consulting for the investment management industry, asset management product strategy and development, fund structuring, capital formation, or a related role supporting private market GPs
  • Understanding of private markets, alternative asset classes, fund structures and the fundraising landscape
  • Strong analytical skills, with the expertise to evaluate market trends, synthesize benchmarking data and translate analysis into actionable recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the proficiency to create clear, polished and senior-facing materials
  • Advanced PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills, with high attention to detail and the capability of creating a high-quality work product under tight timelines
  • Capable of managing multiple workstreams simultaneously across a broad range of topics, stakeholders and functional areas  
  • Strong relationship-building skills and comfort interacting with internal and external stakeholders

Expected annual base salary range:

$100,000 - $175,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone’s sole discretion.
