Job Description

  • The Grant Writer and Communications Coordinator will be required to have a bachelors degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or a related field and 3-5 years of related experience (including grant writing experience) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and oral communications skills with proven ability to analyze, organize and use complex information for multiple audiences across multiple mediums.
  • Aptitude to competently manage multiple and diverse projects and use independent judgment on when and how to respond to shifting priorities and the unexpected.
  • Exercise good judgment and take initiative to complete projects in a timely manner, often under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, effective teamwork, and strong service mentality.
  • Outstanding organization and project management skills.
  • Understanding of sales and marketing processes and supporting communications materials (such as grant/RFP responses, PowerPoint presentations, blogs, white papers, etc.).
  • Ability to distill industry/subject matter-specific language into customer-friendly language.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media platforms required.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, both internal and external, to help achieve business outcomes.
  • Experience with Wordpress, MailChimp, and marketing automation software preferred.
  • Experience working with data, infographics, or data visualization experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with workforce development and/or economic development preferred.
