Perform power-system studies and grid interconnection modeling using PSS/E and PSCAD, develop and validate models, and support end-to-end ISO/RTO interconnection processes. Ensure compliance with NERC MOD/FAC/PRC standards and prepare required model submittals; collaborate with utilities and stakeholders on interconnection evaluations.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years in power system studies or grid interconnection (3+ with an advanced degree or exceptional, directly-relevant experience).
- Modeling: Hands-on proficiency with PSS/E and PSCAD, including model development and validation.
- Process: Working knowledge of at least one ISO/RTO interconnection process end to end (ERCOT, SPP, MISO, PJM, NYISO, or WECC).
- Regulatory: Familiarity with NERC MOD/FAC/PRC standards and ISO/utility model- submittal requirements.
- Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering, power-systems concentration; M.S. preferred.
- PSLF, TARA, ASPEN, or PowerWorld experience.
- Grid-following (GFL) and grid-forming (GFM) inverter modeling; user-defined model (UDM)
- integration.
- Python for case automation and post-processing.
- Experience representing owners/developers through ISO study cycles.
- Large-load / data center interconnection exposure.
- EIT or PE on track.
