Who we are and what we do

Contra is building the world’s first professional network for independent creatives and the companies that hire them. We are commission-free, global, and focused on enabling the future of flexible work. Alongside our network and marketplace, we’re launching new product lines including Contra for Companies, Contra Ads Network, and Creative RLHF & Evaluation Services for AI labs and creative-tool companies.

In October, we launched Contra as the creative network and a feed-first product. Our feed is at the heart of this vision. It’s where independents share work in progress, showcase new projects, ask for advice, and connect with clients looking to hire creative talent. We’re looking for a Growth-minded Product Manager to turn the Contra feed into a powerful engine for engagement, discovery, and growth.

We've raised over $50M from leading investors like NEA, Unusual Ventures, and Cowboy Ventures, and companies like Figma, Webflow, and Framer—and we're just getting started.

Responsibilities:

As the Growth PM, Creator & Feed Engagement you’ll own how our feed drives user growth, engagement, and retention. You’ll partner with engineers, data, designers, and our community / marketing teams to build experiments, optimize ranking systems, and design habit-forming experiences that bring creatives back every day.

You will:

  • Grow the network: Make the feed a core driver of new user signups through viral loops and shareable content.
  • Optimize the ranking algorithm: Tune feed ranking to show the most engaging, relevant content — driving likes, replies, and posts.
  • Drive engagement loops: Build notification systems, email campaigns, and in-product features that create meaningful daily touchpoints.
  • Experiment and iterate: Test content formats, layouts, and engagement mechanics to find what keeps users coming back.
  • Measure what matters: Define and track metrics that tie feed health to growth — activation, retention, DAU/MAU, and conversion.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with data, design, and engineering to run rapid A/B tests and ship high-impact improvements.

Requirements:

You’re data-driven but human-first. You love the art and science of creating products that people genuinely enjoy using — and you know how to translate insights into scalable growth.

You’ll thrive here if you have:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager in growth, engagement, or social products.
  • Strong analytical mindset — comfort digging into data and defining success metrics.
  • Experience working on feeds, recommendation systems, or ranking algorithms.
  • A deep understanding of content ecosystems, network effects, and retention loops.
  • Ability to move fast — hypothesis-driven, collaborative, and eager to experiment.
  • Empathy for creators and curiosity about how they connect, share, and grow.
  • Ownership mindset — you are not constrained by resources and able to execute from end-to-end.
