GSMG Research Senior Associate / Commercial MBS

• Identify and analyze recent trends in the commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) market with the goal of publishing cutting edge research. Focus of articles would range from fundamentals and collateral analysis to supply and demand trends, valuations, and positioning recommendations.
• Assist senior members of the team with analysis and data requests.
• Interact with clients remotely and in person to share market views and recommendations.
• Have strong analytical skills and the ability to breakdown complex ideas in writing and verbally.

• The unit produces regular written research, holds conference calls with industry consultants and regularly communicates with clients (both internal and external).
• Modeling: Maintaining & updating commercial real estate sector credit analysis tools; creating new tools; maintaining relative value sheets.
• Research: Assist with the publication of weekly views, monthly collateral performance, deep dive notes as well as other group products.
• Communication: Assist with client inquiries and requests (internal and external).
• Events: Assist with coordination of investor meetings and conference calls.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

• 2-4 years of experience in the CMBS/CRE market preferred
• MBA or graduate degree and/or CFA preferred.
• SIE, Series 63 & 7. If you do not have these, you can obtain them within 180 days
• Python, SQL, Quant skill set including various AI models such as Gemini, Claude, and Copilot
• Experience in supporting senior research analysts
• Comfort in dealing with large data sets preferred
• Excellent inter-personal and writing skills
• Attention to detail
• Secure and maintain applicable licenses

• Bachelor’s or graduate-level in a quantitative field (preferred)
