About Raycon

Raycon is a consumer electronics brand focused on creating reliable, well-designed audio products that people actually enjoy using every day. With over 4 million customers and continued rapid growth, we build products by listening closely to real customer needs and executing with discipline at scale.
We are growing quickly and looking for engineers who want real ownership, real responsibility, and real impact.

About the Role

This role owns the end-to-end execution of hardware products, from early concept through mass production. You will sit at the center of design, engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, and quality, and you will be accountable for shipping real products on time and at scale.
This is not a lab-heavy or narrowly scoped engineering role.
If your ideal week is mostly CAD, bench testing, or detailed component design, this role is likely not a fit.
This role is for an engineer who wants to own outcomes, make tradeoffs, and drive decisions across multiple internal teams and external partners.

What You'll Do

  • Own wearable hardware products from concept through EVT, DVT, PVT, and mass production
  • Act as the technical product owner across ME, EE, ID, firmware, QA, and manufacturing
  • Translate product requirements into clear technical specifications and execution plans
  • Drive design reviews, risk assessments, and readiness milestones
  • Work directly with overseas contract manufacturers and component suppliers on:
    • DFM, DFA, and cost optimization
    • Tooling, validation builds, and yield issues
    • Quality escapes and corrective actions
  • Make informed tradeoffs between cost, performance, schedule, and risk
  • Identify issues early and drive resolution without perfect information
  • Support sustaining engineering and post-launch improvements

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in hardware product development, preferably consumer electronics or wearables
  • Strong understanding of full product development cycles and manufacturing ramp
  • Experience working directly with contract manufacturers and overseas suppliers
  • Ability to evaluate designs and identify risks across mechanical, electrical, and system-level interactions
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional teams and hold execution accountable
  • Comfortable making decisions with incomplete data
  • Clear, structured communicator who can align teams quickly

Our Mission:

We exist to democratize technology and enable inspiring audio experiences for people around the world by designing accessible, thoughtfully engineered products rooted in real consumer needs.

Growth Potential: Work in a $800B+ market and growing

  • The global consumer electronics market exceeds $800B and continues to grow
  • The wireless audio category alone is approaching $100B with strong forward momentum
  • Raycon has surpassed 3M customers and is on track to reach 4M this year

Raycon is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Salary ranges are informed by market data and internal alignment.
NYC Base Salary Range: $90,000 – $140,000 USD, plus bonus eligibility and benefits.
