Build Copia’s communications and analyst relations function from scratch, owning PR, analyst briefings, executive thought leadership, launches, social media, customer stories, agencies, and measurement. The role requires strong B2B technology communications experience, ideally in cybersecurity or enterprise infrastructure, with established analyst and media relationships. The leader will develop messaging, manage Gartner, Forrester, and IDC programs, ghostwrite executive content, media-train founders, support product launches, and operate hands-on as a team of one initially. Travel is required up to 20%.

Copia is the leading provider of OT backup, recovery and code management software. We help manufacturers, utilities, logistics and energy companies back up, track and recover the code that runs their PLCs, robots and plant-floor systems, so a cyberattack or human error means hours of downtime, not weeks. Our customers include some of the world's largest food and beverage, consumer goods and industrial brands.

The Role

Copia's first Head of Communications & Analyst Relations will build our voice from scratch. Attacks on physical infrastructure are front-page news, analysts are starting to define the OT backup and recovery category, and no company owns this story yet. We intend to be that company.
You'll own PR, analyst relations, executive thought leadership and social. You'll work directly with our CEO and co-founder and sit at the center of marketing, connecting the analyst briefing, the press release, the customer story and the LinkedIn post so each one builds on the others. This is a senior, hands-on role: you'll set the strategy and do much of the work yourself, with agency and freelance support as we grow.

What You'll Own

  • Analyst relations: build and run the Gartner, Forrester and IDC program: briefings, inquiry, research submissions and the path into the first reports that define our category.
  • Media relations: set a steady news cadence across cybersecurity, industrial and business press, and be ready to comment fast when OT attacks hit the headlines.
  • Executive thought leadership: turn our founders and leadership team into recognized voices through bylines, ghostwritten posts, speaking slots, podcasts and media training.
  • Launches and announcements: lead comms for product launches, starting with the GA of our on-prem offering in early 2027, plus funding, partner and customer news.
  • Social and employee advocacy: own Copia's LinkedIn presence and help leaders and sellers post well and consistently.
  • Customer stories: work with sales and customer success to turn wins into case studies, references and press-ready stories.
  • Agencies and measurement: choose and manage PR/AR partners and report on share of voice, coverage, analyst mentions and the pipeline they influence.

Your First 90 Days

    1. Audit our messaging, coverage and analyst relationships, then present a 12-month comms and AR plan.
    2. Set up a regular cadence with the Gartner and other analysts who already cover OT.
    3. Build the comms plan for upcoming product launches, including press, analyst briefings and customer proof points.
    4. Media-train the founders and land the first executive bylines and speaking slots.
    5. Launch a consistent LinkedIn program for the company and its leaders.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years in B2B tech communications, ideally cybersecurity or enterprise infrastructure, including senior roles at high-growth  companies.
  • A track record in analyst relations, such as leading a Magic Quadrant or Wave submission and moving a company's placement.
  • Strong relationships with security and tech press, and judgment about when to push a story and when to hold.
  • Experience ghostwriting for executives and building their profiles.
  • Comfort being a team of one at first: you write the release, pitch the reporter and run the briefing yourself.
  • An integrated view, so PR, AR, social, content and customer stories work as one system.
  • Interest in OT, industrial cybersecurity and the people who keep plants running. Experience in the space is a plus but not required.
  • Travel: Up to 20% (events, press, analyst days)
