Does the challenge of scaling a fast-growing company by powering it with data and analytics excite you? Atlassian is seeking a world-class analytics and data science leader. You will work remotely and report to our Head of GTM and Growth Data Science.
You will be part of a world-class Data Science team that leverages data to lead insights about our products and customers. Our team works with Product Managers, GTM Teams, Engineers, Data Engineers, Privacy teams and Executive teams across Atlassian to lead broad influence. Our team uncovers data-driven insights and brings data-centric perspectives to strategic decisions.
What you'll do

  • Lead collaboration across a variety of product and business problems with a diverse set of partners
  • Be a trusted strategic partner to executive leadership
  • Build, structure, and grow a talented team of Data Scientists to identify and help solve the business' biggest challenges through analysis
  • Work with complex data sets to solve a wide array of challenging problems using different analytical and statistical approaches
  • Apply technical expertise with quantitative analysis, experimentation, and the presentation of data to develop strategies for our products
  • Define, understand, and test opportunities to improve the product, and guide roadmaps through recommendations

Your background

  • 15+ Years of Experience in Data Science or related fields
  • 8+ years of experience managing teams, including as a manager of managers
  • Experience scaling and developing a team of data scientists, with individual contributor to director-level direct reports
  • Prior demonstrated experience working in and reviewing code in SQL and at least one other data science programming language (i.e. Python, R)
  • Expertise in applying a broad variety of statistical concepts (e.g. regressions, A/B tests, clustering) to business problems and a sense of when to adapt/combine approaches to suit the problem at hand.
  • Experience influencing business strategy and driving change across organizational boundaries through clear and compelling communication of data-driven insights and analyses

It's great, but not required if you have:

  • Experience building trusted advisor relationships with senior executives.
  • Comfort with structuring and coaching others to work through open-ended business questions through analytics
  • Experience partnering in Product Growth and building product led growth capabilities
  • Experience working in a business that focused on SaaS and Enterprise products
  • Experience in building and scaling an experimentation culture

To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience.
In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $266,300 - $355,000
Zone B: $239,600 - $319,500
Zone C: $221,000 - $294,700
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
