Job Description:
This job is responsible for providing support and guidance to Financial Advisors on the suite of Alternative Investment solutions available on the BofA Merrill Alts Platform. Key responsibilities include performing routine visits to territories and providing Financial Advisors with the education and resources they need to successfully implement Alts within their client’s portfolios. Job expectations include willingness to travel to territories, presentation skills, relationship skills, and proactive reach out to maintain clients.  

Bank of America Merrill Alternative Investments is seeking an experienced sales professional to join the Alternative Investments Specialist organization supporting the Private Wealth channel.  The role is primarily responsible for the sales, marketing and education of hedge funds, private equity offerings and real asset solutions to Merrill Financial Advisors.  In addition, the candidate will lead a team of Private Wealth Specialists across multiple territories, as well as members of the Internal Sales Desk. The role also includes servicing existing clients and assisting with the prospecting of new ultra high-net-worth and institutional investors.

Responsibilities:

• Educate advisors on platform offerings, investment strategies, and product suitability for various client profiles
• Assist in creating proposals for clients based on market research and analysis
• Manage relationship with clients and advisors by being present in local offices and proactively reaching out
• Partner with regional leadership to drive adoption of alternative products within network
• Responsible for all hiring, development, evaluation and coaching activity for the Private Wealth Management (PWM) Alts Specialist team.
• Supervise and mentors the PWM Internal Sales Desk members and foster an environment of collaboration between internal and external Specialists
• In addition to leading the PWM Alts Specialist team, the candidate will assume Alts Specialist responsibilities for the Northeast region.  This will require the candidate to develop a business strategy that enables them to work independently in the territory alongside local PWM market leadership and Financial Advisors.  
• Engage with members of the broader Alternative Investments Sales Team, home office leadership, and selects third-party product partners to cultivate future Alts growth.
• Develop a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the Merrill PWM portfolio construction process with respect to alternative investments, including hedge funds, private equity, and real assets.
• Work with internal operations, marketing, product origination, risk, legal and compliance partners to enhance the overall client and advisor experience.

 

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of financial services product and/or sales experience
• Travel throughout coverage area (2-3 days a week)
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of alternative investment products
• Self-motivated individual with a passion for alternative investments and a strong desire to lead
• Currently hold Series 7, 63, and 65 or 66 licenses, or be able to obtain them within 120 days of hire

Pay and benefits information

Pay range$150,000.00 - $250,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
