About Us

Fractal Power is a vertically integrated power company built for the modern grid. We own and operate across the entire stack, combining utility-scale energy storage infrastructure with algorithmic trading and dispatch to deliver power precisely where and when it’s needed most.

We are backed by the world’s leading infrastructure and deeptech investors, including Riot, Definition, and Worldbuild.

Why Join Us?

Demand for power is growing at the fastest rate since WWII yet supply is stranded behind worsening transmission and interconnection bottlenecks. The new economy requires a new model of power delivery, one that’s vertically integrated, algorithmically operated, and co-located with demand.

We solve the last-mile infrastructure problem by vertically integrating across the entire value chain of American power - from greenfield development, to algorithmic optimization, dispatch, and power trading across a fleet of distributed resources - allowing us to deliver power where and when it's needed most on the grid. We have the ambition, the team, and the zeal to create the next great power company and we are looking for fanatical people to join us.

Role Overview

You will own the financial architecture behind Fractal's asset base: the models, the capital structures, and the analysis that determine what we build, how we finance it, and what it returns. Every project we commit to, every facility we sign, and every dollar of tax credit we monetize will pass through work you are responsible for.

This is a senior role reporting directly to the CFO. You will run the modeling stack end to end (i.e., project-level construction and operating models, portfolio aggregation, equity waterfalls, and returns analysis) and you will carry that work directly into live transactions: sizing and negotiating project debt, structuring ITC transfers and tax equity, and underwriting the economics of additional strategic initiatives we pursue. You will be expected to build the analytical infrastructure the company runs on and defend it in front of lenders, investors, and counsel.

You will work closely with development, engineering, and commercial teams, and directly with our capital providers, tax advisors, and outside counsel. Your judgment will shape what we can credibly underwrite, what terms we accept, and where we deploy capital next. This is a high-agency, high-ownership seat with extreme impact into how the company grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the financial modeling stack: Build and maintain project-level construction and operating models, portfolio aggregation models, preferred/common distribution waterfalls, and equity deployment and recycling analyses; establish templates and standards the rest of the company can rely on

  • Drive project financing execution: Model and compare term sheets across construction-to-permanent debt, structured lending, and alternative structures; size facilities, sculpt amortization, test DSCR and revenue floor mechanics, run sensitivities, and manage lender diligence, draw mechanics, and closing deliverables

  • Structure and support tax credit monetization: Model ITC economics, ITC transfer pricing, and tax equity partnership structures including basis step-up and flip mechanics; support safe harbor substantiation, coordinate with tax counsel and advisors, and run investor and buyer diligence

  • Underwrite merchant and contracted revenue: Process and normalize third-party revenue forecasts into operating-year format, analyze ERCOT market dynamics and BESS dispatch economics, and translate energy, ancillary, and capacity assumptions into defensible base, downside, and financing cases

  • Underwrite and structure our compute business: Underwrite the economics of co-located data center capacity, model power and compute offtake structures, and pressure-test the returns and financing implications of a new business line alongside the commercial team

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in project finance, structured finance, or energy infrastructure capital markets, with direct experience financing renewable, storage, or other capital-intensive assets

  • Track record taking financings from term sheet through closing and into ongoing compliance and reporting, with direct accountability for structure, pricing, and execution timeline

  • Experience originating, structuring, and negotiating debt facilities and tax equity or credit transfer transactions with lenders, investors, and their counsel

  • Deep command of financial modeling and analysis, including construction and operating models, distribution waterfalls, and returns and sensitivity analysis built to lender and investor diligence standards

  • Working knowledge of ITC monetization mechanics under §48E and §6418, including basis step-up and partnership structures; familiarity with merchant revenue underwriting and ERCOT market dynamics is a plus

  • Comfort operating with high autonomy in an early-stage, fast-moving environment, and the judgment to make decisions without complete information
