  • Own the SEC reporting control environment, including disclosure controls and procedures (DCP), tie-out controls, and documentation standards
  • Ensure consistency and traceability between source data (consolidation/internal reporting outputs) and external disclosures
  • Drive continuous improvement in drafting, review workflows, and version control to elevate quality and reduce cycle time

Regulatory Monitoring, Benchmarking & Continuing Expertise

  • Monitor SEC and FASB disclosure developments, assess impact to reporting and disclosure requirements, and translate into clear action plans and timelines
  • Track SEC comment letter and peer-filing trends, recommend disclosure and process improvements, and strengthen quality while reducing comment risk
  • Benchmark peer filings and broader market practices and stay current through SEC and external reporting forums to identify leading practices and evolving disclosure expectations, and keep key stakeholders informed on implications and recommended actions

Cross-Functional Partnership & Governance

  • Partner with Legal and disclosure governance (e.g., Disclosure Committee) to support drafting, review, and approval of filings, including risk factors, legal proceedings, and governance disclosures
  • Coordinate with Investor Relations on alignment between filings and earnings communications, as needed
  • Serve as a primary SEC reporting contact for external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audit procedures related to filings and disclosures

Partnering Model with Accounting Policy & Advisory Group

  • Coordinate with Accounting Policy & Advisory Group to ensure SEC disclosures appropriately reflect approved technical accounting conclusions, new standards adoption impacts, and required disclosures
  • Translate technical accounting outcomes into clear, compliant disclosure language; escalate judgment areas and disclosure implications to the Head of Financial Reporting

People Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead, develop, and mentor SEC reporting team members (as applicable), fostering strong writing, control mindset, and deadline management
  • Build effective working relationships with Internal Reporting, Consolidation, Statutory Reporting, Tax, Treasury, and FP&A to ensure smooth information flow into external reporting

What you need to have:

What makes you stand out?

  • Having a master’s degree
  • A demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables under tight deadlines with high accuracy and strong judgment
  • A strong writing/editing capability for financial statement footnotes and related disclosure narratives
  • Experience with SEC reporting platforms and tools (e.g., Workiva or similar), large ERP/consolidation environments, and complex corporate structures
  • Prior experience coordinating audits for SEC filings and managing DCP/tie-out controls
