About the role:

CHANEL is looking for a Head of Marketing to join our Watches & Fine Jewelry Team, based in New York Home Office. This role is responsible for leading the strategic development and execution of Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, and Visual Merchandising for the WFJ category in the U.S. market. The position plays a key role in elevating brand equity, strengthening product storytelling, and ensuring best-in-class in-boutique expression of the Maison. This leadership role interfaces with many stakeholders across the organization and is a key partner for Public Relations, Media, Events, Client Analytics, Insights, CHANEL.com, Retail, Fashion and WFJ corporate teams, as well as Global WFJ Teams. The role reports to the GM Watches & Fine Jewelry.

  • Develop new ways to further drive the scale of the WFJ business
  • Define and lead the overall marketing strategy for Watches & Fine Jewelry in the U.S., strengthening brand awareness, desirability, and legitimacy.
  • Drive initiatives that support the scaling of the WFJ business and reinforce CHANEL’s positioning within the luxury watch and jewelry landscape.
  • Partner with global teams to localize brand and product marketing strategies for the U.S. market.
  • Develop strong product storytelling and launch strategies to support key collections and iconic product platforms.
  • Lead cross-functional orchestration across communications, media, events, retail, and digital to ensure consistent and impactful product visibility.
  • Translate market insights and commercial opportunities into strategic product marketing initiatives.
  • Define and implement the visual merchandising strategy across the U.S. boutique network to ensure exceptional brand expression and retail experience.
  • Ensure VM execution aligns with global guidelines while adapting to local business priorities and key markets.
  • Partner with Retail and Merchandising teams to optimize product presentation, storytelling, and client engagement in boutiques.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Marketing and Visual Merchandising team, fostering collaboration, creativity, and operational excellence.
  • Navigate a complex and highly collaborative environment while supporting transformation and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate marketing intelligence and analyze competition mapping and product strategies
  • Partner with the global team on product development.

What you will bring to the team:

  • A strong brand building background with at least one major luxury brand
  • A knowledge of and deep passion for the watch and fine jewelry industry and the luxury retail landscape overall
  • Proven experience in 360° marketing orchestration, connecting communication, retail, and product storytelling
  • Strong experience leading product marketing and visual merchandising strategies
  • The ability to understand and interpret local market insights and transform them into strategies
  • A keen eye for details while not getting stuck in the weeds
  • The ability to inspire others and lead by influence across multiple teams
  • The ability to foster innovation and forward thinking, to embrace news ways to engage with our clients, whether it is through .com, social media, remote sales, e-services…
  • Proven ability to inspire and lead teams through change

Position Logistics:

  • Partially Remote: Role requires a minimum of three days in-person office presence at the designated location/office.
  • 10+ years of deep branding experience, preferably in luxury sector, overall 15+ years of experience
  • P&L management, budget ownership and strategic planning experience required
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize data easily, formalizing this data into strategic presentations (especially ppt)
  • Experience in brand marketing, product marketing, or retail marketing
  • Experience leading teams and leaders of teams
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree or MBA preferred
  • Proficient use of Microsoft 365 programs is required
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically approximately 15% -20% or as business requires
  • NY office-based role
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication required with an understanding of French language preferable

Compensation:

  • The anticipated base salary range for this position is 223,000 through 280,000. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other forms of variable pay [may/will] be offered for this position. Other components [may/will] include bonus potential, benefits, and/or perks.
