Summary

Implementation Consultants within Guidewire Professional Services are responsible for configuration of the system, integration development and some custom development of Guidewire’s core insurance product, InsuranceNow, to enable our customers to efficiently accomplish their business aspirations and goals. An effective technical Implementation Consultant working in the Professional Services industry requires the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of individuals and roles, and is someone with a strong background in software configuration/ development.
All of our technical Implementation Consultants work closely and collaborate with other consultants, Business Analysts, Project Managers, Leadership, and many other cross functional team members. The culture and nature of InsuranceNow implementation is fast paced and collaborative, sharing in our company core values of integrity, rationality and collegiality.
Candidates should have several years of proven track record in key contributions to the implementation and development of packaged enterprise software delivered to the highest quality and success.

Job Description

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of directly related technical experience in a professional services role

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

  • Solid problem-solving skills, plus the desire to solve real-world business problems for our customersAbility to assess and manage risks, and communicate appropriately

  • Prior experience in a Java/Javascript/web technology development role

  • Highly experienced working with Java environments and understanding of Java runtime and library functionality including troubleshooting tools (i.e. understanding of Heap Dumps, Memory allocation, etc in the context of running applications).

  • High competency in understanding Log configuration (Log4J), ability to efficiently read and understand log files to troubleshoot realtime or historical issues.

  • Understanding and experience with technologies such as Apache Tomcat, AWS (S3, PrivateLink, Lambda, etc) and databases such SQL Server, MySQL, AWS Aurora, etc

  • Working knowledge of web technologies such as XML, HTML, Java Script, and Apache Velocity

  • Working experience with software development tools such as Eclipse IDE, IntelliJ, source version control such as GitHub; experience with project coordination tools such as SharePoint, Smartsheet, Jira, etc.

  • Working experience and knowledge of API’s, micro services, and understanding of core system integrations to accomplish business functionality while using state of the art technologies.

  • Experienced in maintaining relationships with internal team members and partner organizations

  • Experienced with working in a cross-functional team and with team members in different geographical locations

  • Ability to demo the packaged software system, as a whole, or in functional part (user stories) that you are a contributing to the implementation

  • Knowledge of Agile software development processes

  • Ability to perform peer code reviews on all functional (user stories) to ensure quality and adherence to acceptable code standards

  • Able to coordinate multiple priorities and demonstrate initiative in starting and completing projects

  • Advanced knowledge of Amazon Web Services infrastructure and technologies are a plus

  • Previous experience working in a customer facing technical environment is a plus

  • Provided examples of working with a wide range of individuals with different skill sets is a plus

  • Property and Casualty Insurance knowledge a plus

 

Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Technology or equivalent experience
     

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $108,000 - $192,000. Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, education, training, and location among other factors. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a company sponsored retirement plan. In addition, some roles may be eligible for the annual company bonus plan, commissions, and/or long term incentive awards which are contingent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, company and employee performance.
