Why Numeric

Every business relies on accounting. Yet most software in the space was built in the early 2000s — clunky, slow, and far behind the curve on AI. Today, accountants are facing a growing, unsolved data problem as a consequence of complexity, data, and system fragmentation — and they lack the tools to solve it. The problems are real, hard, and increasingly urgent. But they're solvable.

Enter Numeric — the modern financial data platform for accounting and finance. Weaving together data, workflows, and AI-first solutions, we're empowering accounting teams to achieve verifiable, detailed financial data faster and make business decisions with greater confidence.

We have strong product market fit and a growing base of customers who love our product — including Anthropic, OpenAI, Plaid, Brex, and many more. We're backed by top-tier investors including Menlo Ventures, IVP, Founders Fund, and 8VC, along with founders and executives from Ramp, Segment, and other category-defining companies.

About the role
  • Do you love the moment a customer's close runs on the system you set up?

  • Ever wish you could re-architect a messy close process instead of just surviving it every month?

  • Do you measure an implementation by whether the customer is actually living in the product, not by whether the kickoff deck got delivered?

If any of that resonates, this role is for you. As an Implementations Manager, you'll own new customer implementations end to end: running the kickoff, building the milestone plan, doing the technical configuration and integration work, training the customer's team, and driving to a go-live where the customer is genuinely closing in Numeric. Implementation is where customers decide whether Numeric is a tool or their system of record. You own that first impression.

This is the ops-and-process pillar of our post-sales team: structured, technical, project-driven work with real customer relationships built through the most intensive weeks of their Numeric journey.

You'll be joining a team of reformed accountants, alumni of EY, PwC, KPMG, and Deloitte, plus in-house teams at companies like Brex, Meta, and WHOOP, who decided building the future of the close beat running one. We're also one of the most AI-forward post-sales teams in SaaS: we build our own AI agents and internal tooling rather than waiting for someone to build it for us.

What You'll Do
  • Own a portfolio of implementations end to end. Kickoff through go-live: week-by-week milestone plans, clear Numeric-vs-customer responsibilities, honest expectation management when timelines slip, and in-person kickoffs and trainings when being in the room moves the project.

  • Do the technical work with AI leverage. Configure close checklists, reconciliations, flux, and reporting; debug ERP integrations (NetSuite depth matters — token errors, permissions, multi-entity structures); and build AI-assisted configuration so your capacity scales past your hours.

  • Make customers AI-native from day one. Train accounting teams from staff accountant to controller, on the product and on running an AI-first close, so go-live means a modern close rather than a lift-and-shift of the old one.

  • Go deep on a product surface. Close implementations are the foundation; Cash is our most technically demanding, transaction matching rules, SFTP data feeds, automation-rate monitoring, and edge cases that need creative workarounds. You'll build depth in one and fluency in both.

  • Hold "done" to outcomes and hand off cleanly. Go-live means the customer is closing in Numeric, not that the plan ran out of rows. Clear blockers with Engineering and Product while keeping the customer moving, and deliver adopted, documented accounts to Customer Success against defined handoff criteria.

  • Build the playbook and the services motion. Codify what great looks like, kickoff decks, phased templates, agents that automate the repetitive 80%, mentor Implementations Associates as the team grows, and scope and deliver paid AI implementation services engagements.

What You'll Bring
  • Accounting Foundation: 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in the shape of an accounting manager or technical accounting manager who has owned a monthly close. You've run the process you'll now be re-architecting, and you're credible with controllers and CAOs on day one. CPA is a strong plus.

  • Project Leadership: You've led complex, multi-stakeholder projects to done — ideally software implementations or systems migrations — and you keep momentum without waiting to be pushed.

  • ERP & Systems Depth: Strong understanding of ERPs (especially NetSuite), integrations, and how financial data moves between systems.

  • Strong Communication & Problem-Solving: You give customers confident, opinionated guidance on how they should close, and you handle pushback with evidence rather than deference.

  • AI Fluency & Bias for Action: You automate what others grind through. You use AI tools in your own delivery work and design implementations that assume customers will too.

Nice to Haves (Not Required):
  • Prior implementation, solutions consulting, or professional services experience at a B2B SaaS company

  • Experience with multi-entity and/or multi-currency accounting

  • Exposure to audit processes and internal control frameworks

  • Experience scoping or delivering paid services engagements

  • Ability to write and run basic SQL queries

What Success Looks Like
  • Time-to-Value: Your implementations go live fast, and "live" means the customer is actually closing in Numeric

  • Quality at Handoff: Customers arrive in CS adopted and healthy, and churn doesn't trace back to a rushed implementation

  • Complexity Absorbed: The hardest projects (NetSuite-heavy, multi-entity, Cash) land with you and land well

  • Customer Love: Your onboardings generate the "best onboarding we've ever had" feedback that turns new customers into references

  • Team Leverage: Your playbooks, templates, and AI-assisted workflows measurably compress implementation timelines across the team

How We Work

This role is in person in San Francisco or New York (in office by default but with flexibility to manage your schedule as you see fit).

We strongly believe we will only be successful if everyone on the team is anchored in our following set of core principles:

  • Brick by Brick: To win, our team needs to show up and execute in each domain every day.

  • Love the Game: We focus on the craft and a deep sense of giving a f*ck. We're building a company full of people who are equally engaged and motivated.

  • SALY: We refuse to accept "Same As Last Year." For too long, accounting and finance systems have reflected outdated processes instead of reimagining what's possible. We're driven by a first-principles approach to building better solutions.

  • Own the Outcome: We own our results. We typically hire builders and give them large mandates with high-trust. You're responsible for customer outcomes, not just task completion.

  • Earn the Right: We're impatient to deliver results. We relentlessly iterate, measure, and improve. Every day is an opportunity to beat our prior best, raising the bar for the value we deliver to customers.
