Job Description:

At Pentair, you will work alongside passionate problem-solvers who are committed to the future of our planet. We put our mission into practice, helping the world sustainably move, improve, and enjoy water, life's most essential resource. From our residential water filtration to industrial water management to pool products and more, our 9,000 global employees serve customers in more than 150 countries, working to help create a better world for people and the planet through smart, sustainable water solutions.

We have an opportunity for an Inside Sales Manager. You will lead one of the two divisions of a newly created Inside Sales team within the Pool business category. This role is critical to the formalization and scaling of Pentair's inside sales function as part of a broader Go-to-Market strategy. The primary directive is to increase revenues and profitability by managing and developing the Inside Sales team to properly service existing accounts while actively pursuing new accounts. The manager will guide the team in achieving aggressive growth targets and maximizing market penetration. A key focus will be on effectively serving a targeted list of dealers, particularly those identified as smaller accounts or those in segments previously underserved by field sales. This role requires close collaboration with distributors, and the broader sales team, including Field Sales, Sales Operations, Marketing, Technical Service and Customer Service, to elevate the overall customer experience and drive sales growth. This position is an opportunity to leverage past experience in establishing and leading inside sales teams within organizations that utilize both inside and outside sales functions, helping to define and refine processes, roles, and handoffs for optimal efficiency and customer satisfaction.

You will:

  • Achieve or surpass sales quota for the Inside Sales team.
  • Develop, implement, and lead a focused sales strategy for the Inside Sales team, aligned with the Pool business unit's strategic objectives.
  • Manage, coach, and develop Inside Sales Representatives, providing direction and support to meet company goals and foster a sense of shared purpose and vision.
  • In collaboration with Sales Operations, evaluate and define the criteria for the targeted account list for inside sales, which will be a fluid exercise.
  • Protect and grow the existing book of business by being transferred to the Inside Sales team.
  • Establish and manage processes and workflows for lead management (inbound/outbound), qualification, current customer dealer management (proactive outreach, support, issue resolution, opportunity identification), and sales cycle stages.
  • Ensure the team effectively responds quickly and efficiently to all sales leads generated by marketing and other channels.
  • Collaborate closely with outside sales (TSMs) to define clear roles, responsibilities, and seamless handoff processes for accounts transitioning between inside and field sales based on size, potential, or complexity.
  • Develop and organize Sales and Marketing reports to monitor individual and team performance against key metrics and objectives.
  • Utilize and manage the team's use of Salesforce CRM to track activities, manage the pipeline, and drive results.
  • Champion a culture of relationship building and technical competence within the Inside Sales team to provide excellent customer experience and build trust with dealers.
  • Develop and administer sales policies and practices to maximize market penetration efficiently.
  • Collaborate on business strategy evolution for smaller revenue accounts.
  • Assist the team in investigating and resolving reported field problems and assisting distributors with order processing.

Key Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years in a sales leadership role, with demonstrated experience directly managing and developing a high performing Inside Sales team.
  • Proven experience building or scaling an inside sales function within a company that utilizes both inside and outside sales teams. You know how to define the rules of engagement.
  • Deep expertise in multi-step sales environments (Channel Partners, Distribution, Dealers).
  • Mastery of Salesforce or a similar CRM as a tool for pipeline management and forecasting.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience demonstrating strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Bonus Points: Direct experience in the swimming pool industry.

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated TTC range will be from $118400 - $219900 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus and/or sales incentives.
