Are you curious about the world of Investments, Business, or Finance but have not yet had the chance to pursue your interests?   

At OMERS Private Equity (OPE), we are creating opportunities for 1st or 2nd year students who want to bring their diverse experiences and perspectives into the workplace, who have a growth mindset, and are excited to engage themselves in new opportunities. 

 

Our NYC OPE Summer Internship Program provides a holistic introduction to the possibilities of a career in Private Equity. This internship is fantastic for students who have not yet had the access or opportunities available to previously explore or picture themselves in the world of Investments. 

 

As part of your experience with us in the OPE Summer Internship, you will: 

  • Participate in meaningful work experiences and programming across our team to give you exposure into the dynamic world of Private Equity. 

  • Receive exposure and training to technical aspects of the business that will be invaluable should you choose to pursue a career in Investments, Business, Finance, or Entrepreneurship. 

  • Be supported in your personal career development with guidance and growth opportunities. 

  • Have a year-long industry mentorship to provide you with valuable support, guidance, and industry connections even after your OPE Summer Internship concludes.

You should apply if you are: 

  • A 1st or 2nd year student enrolled in an undergraduate degree program during the Summer of 2026 

  • Strong interest starting your future career in Private Equity or Investments  

  • Completed courses in financial accounting, finance and/or valuation prior to the start of the internship is strongly preferred but not required  

  • Detail oriented 

  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, and a focus on writing / presentation skills 

  • Can multi-task in a fast-paced work environment 

  • Willing to be a team player and embrace a collaborative work environment 

  • Experienced in Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)

OMERS Private Equity (OPE) is a CAD$15.2Bn evergreen private equity fund focused on direct, majority control investing (traditional buyouts) in North America. Within the NY office, the ~20 person investment team is focused broadly on industrials and business services investment opportunities.

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. The base salary that is ultimately offered to the successful candidate will consider a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill set. 


The expected hourly range for this position is $29.00 - $43.00 per hour.

You may also be eligible to receive an annual Incentive Award pursuant to our Short-term Incentive plan and our Long-Term Incentive plan (if applicable), and to participate in our group benefits and retirement plans – details on these elements of compensation are included within OMERS & Oxford offer letters.
