What you will gain
Our Summer Internship Program, beginning in June 2026, provides immersive training and introduction to Santander. You will be combining this training with practical experience on both technical and people skills, helping your development during the internship. 

The 2026 Santander Summer Internship Program is for undergraduate students and/or graduate level students who have an expected graduation date between December 2026 and May/June 2027. 

Santander US is a nationwide business with locations across the country. This position locations include Boston, MA; Dallas, TX; New York, NY and Miami, FL.

•    The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location. 
Salary: $67,600/year

As an Internal Audit intern, you will come out of this experience with an understanding of the audit profession within the Banking industry. You will gain direct knowledge of how to execute basic audit testing as part of internal audit reviews ensuring all audit quality and client relation standards are met. 

Responsibilities of the Internal Audit internship role may include but are not limited to:
•    Assist in audit planning by gathering background information on business units, processes, and controls.
•    Support audit fieldwork through testing controls, performing walkthroughs, and documenting evidence.
•    Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, anomalies, or potential weaknesses.
•    Review policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements. control
•    Prepare working papers that clearly document audit findings, methodologies, and conclusions.
•    Contribute to risk assessments by identifying areas of potential risk and suggesting mitigation strategies.

What we are looking for
•    An undergraduate student with an expected graduation date between either December 2026 or May/June 2027.
•    Area of Study: Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, Math, Economics, Technology, or related field
•    Cumulative GPA is 3.0 or above.
•    Brings curiosity, creativity, and the confidence to challenge assumptions and propose new approaches.
•    Strong English communication skills both written and spoken required.
•    Analytical thinkers with a strong attention to detail. 
•    Organized and able to manage time and multiple tasks efficiently.
•    Ability to work independently on special projects.
•    Thrives in collaborative settings and values diverse perspectives to drive team success.
•    Coursework in or exposure to accounting, finance, economics, or business.
•    Experience in Microsoft Office products. (Preferred) 
•    Experience in Excel, Python, SQL, Power BI, or Oracle. (Preferred)
•    Exposure to ChatGPT or Copilot (Preferred)
