The purpose of this role is to support Proskauer's internal communications strategy by helping keep Firm leadership, attorneys, and business services professionals informed, engaged, aligned, and inspired around the Firm's strategic vision, brand, values, culture, priorities, and key initiatives.

This role would report to the Senior Manager, Internal and Brand Communications and work closely with business services leaders, administrative departments, and cross-functional teams. This role helps translate strategy into clear, consistent, and compelling communications that support Firm operations, culture, and change initiatives.

This position is execution focused and combines strong internal communications experience with excellent writing, project coordination, and organizational skills. A significant focus of the role is supporting firmwide change initiatives through thoughtful, well-coordinated communications that promote understanding, readiness, engagement, and adoption.

Responsibilities

Internal Communications Planning and Coordination

  • Support the development and execution of a firmwide internal communications plan aligned with Proskauer's business objectives, brand, values, and culture.
  • Help plan and coordinate internal communications campaigns and initiatives that support Firm priorities, operational initiatives, and cultural programs, and help align talent messaging with our brand, values, and culture through storytelling.
  • Maintain a detailed internal communications calendar to ensure coordinated, timely, and consistent messaging across the Firm.
  • Support day-to-day administrative management of internal communications activity, including timelines, approvals, stakeholder input, distribution lists, and documentation.

Content Development

  • Draft, edit, proofread, and produce high-quality internal communications, including Firm announcements, leadership messages, newsletters, intranet content, presentations, FAQs, talking points, and other employee-facing materials.
  • Ensure all internal communications reflect a consistent tone of voice and adhere to Proskauer's brand, values, and professional standards.
  • Partner with BDMC and other departments to help align internal and external messaging where appropriate.
  • Support the development of communications toolkits and materials that can be adapted for use across teams and offices.

Change Communications

  • Support the leadership, and business services teams in developing and delivering communications that support significant firmwide changes, including strategy, brand, restructuring, growth initiatives, client teams, technology implementations, and organizational initiatives.
  • Help communicate the rationale, impact, and expectations associated with change initiatives in a clear and accessible way that supports adoption and aligns with the Firm's culture.
  • Assist with communications for sensitive or time-critical matters in collaboration with Firm leadership and relevant stakeholders.

Channel Management and Measurement

  • Support the day-to-day management of internal communication channels, including the intranet and collaboration platforms.
  • Help maintain editorial standards, publishing processes, and content governance for internal channels.
  • Track engagement and feedback to help assess effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve communication approaches and channel performance.
  • Assist with keeping internal content current, organized, and easy to access.

Leadership and Stakeholder Support

  • Provide day-to-day messaging support to leadership and stakeholders on firmwide and departmental communications, including guidance on timing, formatting, and channel selection.
  • Prepare leaders with communication materials, presentations, and talking points for firmwide and departmental communications.
  • Support the development of tools, templates, and resources that help leaders communicate more effectively within their teams.
  • Build strong working relationships across the Firm and serve as a responsive, organized, and dependable partner to stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, Public Relations, or a related field required. Advanced degree a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or related roles, with strong hands on internal communications experience required. Experience within a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting communications for organizational, operational, or cultural change initiatives.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and content development skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally to a range of internal audiences.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with close attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders across the Firm, including senior leaders.
  • Experience working with internal communication platforms and collaboration tools such as intranet platforms, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Good judgment, discretion, and follow through, especially when handling sensitive or time critical communications.

This position will require physical presence in Proskauer’s offices on a regular basis (at least 3x per week, or more, if it becomes the policy of the Firm or as business needs require). The anticipated compensation range for this position is $90,000-$110,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
