BASIC FUNCTION:

Evaluate, analyze, and communicate systems requirements on a continuing basis for all IT related projects, systems and applications; monitor and document systems processes, including the delivery of regular status reports to all appropriate parties.  Gather business requirements, manage project documentation including all data mapping and business flows, manage change requests.  Work closely with IT project managers throughout the entire process lifecycle.  


WORK PERFORMED:

  • Drive awareness and analysis of process requirements across organizational business units through evaluation of real-time data.
  • Identify workflow that can be improved to increase efficiency and strengthen business processes.
  • Analyze data and develop reports providing insight into business performance, trends, and opportunities helping stakeholders make informed decisions and drive continuous improvements.
  • Coordinate with various departmental teams to improve productivity.
  • Analyze process issues to mitigate bottlenecks and improve performance.
  • Communicate and validate requirements with relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify, assess, and document risk associated with proposed solutions and changes; work with stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure all changes to existing data and applications are reviewed, approved, and tested.
  • Assist with managing changes to project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Assist in analyzing and developing business requirements.
  • Create and maintain extensive project documentation including data mapping and data dictionary. 
  • Ensure the project is managed within the guidelines set by IT policies.
  • Assist with IT Disaster Recovery efforts, testing and documentation.
  • Perform other related duties and / or projects as directed by IT Management
  • Position expected to work onsite and/or remote consistent with NYS and ESD policies and guidelines.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education Level required: BA in an IT related discipline with minimum of 3 years’ experience in related field; Or a 2-year degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience; Or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. 

Relevant experience required: Experience in an IT Business Analyst role. Strong understanding of Information Technology, Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze data and develop detailed reports Knowledge required: Strong proficiency with current Project Management tool. Experience with Office 0365, Excel, and budgeting tools. Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate & Power Apps), and Google Workspace Enterprise is a plus. Ability to work with a diverse group of people at both a functional and technical level and communicate at a level appropriate to audience; Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; Strong written and verbal communication skills.
