Own Bright!Tax’s internal systems backbone by administering HubSpot, managing permissions and integrations, resolving support tickets, and building scripts or automations across HubSpot, Soraban, and Google Workspace. The role also supports onboarding and offboarding, documents processes, identifies recurring issues, and improves workflows to reduce manual intervention and ticket volume. About Bright!Tax

Bright!Tax handles the complexity of US expat tax with precision and care. Our clients build lives full of love, adventure, and freedom. Our job is to remove the tax burden so they can focus on that life. We are a remote-first, globally distributed team. We value kindness, ease, and expertise in everything we do.

About the Role

You own the systems backbone of Bright!Tax. We're looking for someone with a developer's mindset, comfortable writing scripts or building light automation, someone who can put that skill to work on our real systems from day one.  You will quickly become our HubSpot admin, and you keep permissions, configurations, integrations, and data integrity clean across every tool the team uses. You also resolve internal support tickets, then close the process gaps that caused them, building the fix, not just flagging it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain scripts or integrations that automate repetitive work across HubSpot, Soraban, and Google Workspace.
  • Administer our HubSpot instance. Manage user permissions, custom properties, workflows, and integrations (including our Soraban integration).
  • Triage and resolve support tickets raised by internal teams.
  • Identify patterns in ticket volume. Recommend and document process fixes that prevent repeat issues.
  • Maintain clear, up-to-date process documentation for common workflows and troubleshooting steps.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding tasks: account setup, access provisioning, and file handovers.
  • Provide general DigOps support for the team's day-to-day tools.

Requirements

  • Proficient in English (oral and written).
  • Development or scripting skills, or experience using AI tools to automate repetitive work.
  • Strong attention to detail. You catch errors before they become tickets.
  • Clear written communication. You can document a process so someone else can follow it without asking questions.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote, distributed team.
  • Desire to learn new tools and skills, comfortable with a changing and dynamic environment.
  • Proactive to propose new solutions and improvements.
  • AI Experience

Nice to Have

  • HubSpot admin experience. You have configured workflows, managed properties and permissions, and troubleshot integrations, not just used HubSpot as an end user.
  • API/webhook experience, automation platforms
  • Experience with Google Workspace administration (Gmail, Drive, Calendar).
  • Google Cloud Experience
  • Familiarity with Soraban or similar tax practice management tools.
  • Experience with helpdesk or ticketing tools.
  • Basic website maintenance experience (content updates, simple fixes).

What Success Looks Like

  • Ticket volume drops over time because you have closed the process gaps that caused it, not because problems are being masked. You’ve developed simple solutions to problems.
  • Our systems  run cleanly with minimal manual intervention.
  • Team members can find and follow documented processes without needing to ask you directly.
