Job Description

Oppenheimer's Operations team is seeking a Junior Operations Specialist that will support the daily functions of the New Accounts department in our New York office. The role requires someone who will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and communicate effectively. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and have a collaborative mindset to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently and cooperatively within specified section
  • Comply with section policies, procedures and escalation protocols
  • Review and code DocuSign issued documents specific to New Account opening and maintenance. Trust Agreements, Client Agreements/Corp Client Agreements and Options agreement.
  • Review and update settlement instructions for Institutional DVPs
  • Backup support to reviewing and coding of W8 and W9s
  • Demonstrate first rate client service skills; escalate violations and problems that are unsolved to management
  • Coach junior staff and contribute appropriate, relative knowledge and experiences to aid, assist and/or support the day’s workload
  • Support senior staff with workload as well as participate in two-way knowledge transfer
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalency preferred
  • College degree in business, finance, accounting or math is a plus
  • Possess a high degree of proficiency with technology including MS Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Compensation

For job postings in New York City, Oppenheimer is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. This salary range is specific to the City of New York and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making salary decisions including but not limited to your skills, qualifications, experience, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $55,000.00 at the time of this posting. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as discretionary bonus.
