Job Summary:

B&H is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Account Manager to support and grow our K-12 education business. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with public and private school districts, individual schools, and educational institutions while identifying opportunities to expand B&H's presence in the education market.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the K-12 education environment, particularly Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA). We are looking for someone who can communicate naturally and knowledgeably with educators, understand instructional goals and classroom challenges, and help connect schools with the equipment, technology, and resources they need.

Previous sales experience is not required. We value education experience, subject-matter expertise, curiosity, and the ability to build meaningful relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and grow a portfolio of K-12 education accounts, including public school districts, private schools, charter schools, and educational organizations.
  • Build relationships with teachers, department chairs, CTE and VAPA coordinators, district administrators, technology directors, purchasing departments, and other key stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities through outreach, account research, networking, and relationship development.
  • Expand business within existing accounts by identifying additional schools, departments, instructional programs, and purchasing opportunities.
  • Engage educators in meaningful conversations about curriculum, grant funding, instructional objectives, classroom challenges, and program development to identify appropriate products and solutions.
  • Represent B&H at education conferences, trade shows, industry events, and professional networking opportunities to build relationships, increase brand awareness, and generate new business.
  • Conduct in-person visits to schools, district offices, and educational facilities to strengthen customer relationships, assess program needs, and identify opportunities for collaboration.
  • Coordinate and participate in customer meetings, product demonstrations, and site visits alongside internal product specialists and partners as appropriate.

Required:

  • Strong understanding of the K-12 education environment, including the needs, priorities, and challenges of teachers and school administrators.
  • Familiarity with Career and Technical Education (CTE), Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA), instructional technology, or related instructional programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with educators about curriculum, instructional practices, classroom technology, and program needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive, resourceful approach to problem-solving and relationship development.
  • Willingness to learn sales processes, product categories, procurement procedures, and customer relationship management systems.
  • Comfort working with technology and learning new software applications.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for customer site visits, conferences, trade shows, and other business development activities.

Preferred:

  • Professional experience working in or with K-12 education, including teaching, instructional support, program coordination, curriculum development, school administration, or working directly with teachers and school districts in a business, nonprofit, or educational partnership capacity.
  • Experience or subject matter expertise in CTE pathways such as digital media, broadcasting, filmmaking, photography, audio production, or related disciplines.
  • Experience or subject matter expertise in VAPA programs, including music, theater, live sound, visual arts, and media arts.
  • Familiarity with educational technology, classroom audiovisual equipment, or specialized instructional equipment.
  • Familiarity with school purchasing processes, including purchase orders, competitive bids, RFPs cooperative purchasing contracts, and applicable procurement requirements.
  • Knowledge of education funding sources, purchasing cycles, grant programs, and district budget considerations.
  • Previous account management, business development, customer service, or sales experience is a plus, but not required.

  •
  •

Ideal Candidate:

The successful candidate understands education from the educator's perspective. They can speak confidently with a music teacher about outfitting a rehearsal space, a CTE instructor about building a broadcast studio, or a district administrator about supporting school safety infrastructure.

They are naturally curious, personable, organized, and motivated to help schools achieve their goals. They are equally comfortable discussing educational needs with teachers, developing professional relationships with district leadership, and representing B&H at industry events and customer meetings.

Above all, they understand that successful educational sales begins with listening, identifying real instructional needs, and earning the trust of educators.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive base salary plus potential for annual merit-based bonus
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Employee discounts on cutting-edge tech and gear
  • A mission-driven, customer-focused work environment
  • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement
