About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Analytics Consultant for pricing loss estimation within Wells Fargo Auto. This role will be responsible for developing, validating, and implementing loss assumptions that directly inform pricing decisions across all originations. The position will apply advanced analytics to improve loss estimation accuracy, optimize portfolio profitability, and influence business strategies. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive data-driven decisions while supporting risk management objectives and regulatory compliance.
In this role, you will:
  • Develop and implement pricing loss estimation strategies and recommendations that optimize portfolio profitability while measuring, monitoring, and improving returns on new originations.
  • Advise on complex analytical and modeling initiatives in partnership with Pricing, Risk, Finance, and Auto Lending stakeholders to support key business objectives and operational effectiveness.
  • Analyze, validate, and enhance statistical models and analytical solutions using large-scale data sets to generate actionable financial, risk, and business insights that support decision-making.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and recommendations on pricing strategies, credit loss assumptions, data modeling approaches, and risk exposure assessments while ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze Auto portfolio loss performance, identifying emerging trends, risks, model limitations, and opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy and portfolio performance.
  • Partner with senior leaders and business stakeholders to deliver analytical insights, influence strategic decisions, and support the development of innovative risk and pricing solutions.
  • Apply expertise in credit risk, loss forecasting, and risk-based pricing within a regulated financial services environment to support the establishment of loss assumptions that influence product pricing and profitability.
  • Translate complex analyses, forecasting results, and statistical model outputs into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership utilizing advanced analytical tools and programming languages such as SAS and Python.
  • Develop business strategies that will drive growth, profitability, and competitive advantage for Wells Fargo
  • Develop, test, analyze and implement strategies to achieve the financial objective relevant to macro-economic conditions
  • Work closely with cross functional team (Tech, Product, Risk, Operations) to drive impact on a given product, problem, or initiative
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in analytical work, including framing problems, conducting analysis, synthesizing insights, and influencing leadership decisions
  • Experience with credit loss forecasting and pricing strategies within regulated financial services, including experience setting enterprise level assumptions that directly impact product pricing and profitability.
  • Advanced analytical capability (e.g., SAS, Python) with the ability to translate complex model outputs into executive level insights and business decisions.
  • Strong financial acumen, including understanding of pricing P&L impact, margin trade-offs, and portfolio risk dynamics.
  • Proficient with reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret customer and operational data, identify themes, and translate insights into clear business recommendations
  • Experience in auto lending or financial services.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a highly regulated environment, partnering with Risk, Finance, Audit, and Regulators.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail and data quality
  • Understanding of statistical and advanced analytics techniques, including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and machine learning
  • Strong conceptual thinking and ability to drive clarity in ambiguity while dealing with credit and operational problems
  • Highly refined and professional verbal and written communications
  • Outstanding problem solving and decision-making skills based on analytics
  • Adept in data analysis tools and programming (R, Python, SQL, SAS)
