Job Description

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms, you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise.
Job responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to the project to modernize the Enterprise WAN
  • Plan, design, deploy, and configure network solutions for the Wide Area Network environment consisting of Cisco routers, switches, and other network devices.
  • Provide technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to the project to modernize the Enterprise WAN
  • Works with other platforms owners to implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes. Ensure network designs adhere to industry best practices and security standards.
  • Design and implement Transport (circuit) capacity upgrades and performance enhancements, involving hands-on configuration changes and testing.
  • Hands-on creation and optimization of documentation for software upgrade processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guidelines to support ongoing operations.
  • Executes creative solutions for the design, development, and technical troubleshooting for problems of moderate complexity.
  • Strongly considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or related disciplines
  • Formal training or certification in networking concepts and 5+ years of industry experience in Cisco technologies in performing configuration of protocols - IE: BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, GRE tunnels, IPSec, SSL, VPN, PBR, HSRP, DHCP, QoS, Spanning-tree, Vlan, STP, Trunking, MPLS, etc.
  • Proficiency in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting the above network infrastructure.
  • Deep knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as hardware, networking terminology, network engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, troubleshooting and or performance assessments
  • Extensive experience with LAN, WAN, SDN technologies
  • Knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.).
  • Knowledge of network services and tools such as Radius, DNS, NTP, SYSLOG, SSH, etc.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • CCNP or CCIE certification, demonstrating expertise in designing, implementing, and managing sophisticated network solutions.
