About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to join the Digital Lab Services team. This team is responsible for designing, engineering, and supporting the infrastructure that powers experimentation, emerging technology evaluation, AI innovation, and cloud-based development environments across the enterprise. The team partners closely with engineering, architecture, security, and business stakeholders to enable rapid innovation while maintaining operational excellence and risk management. In this role, you will:
  • Lead complex infrastructure initiatives, including designing, building, deploying, and maintaining solutions that support business applications
  • Evaluate internal and external software solutions that could help achieve target-state architecture goals
  • Make technical design decisions, develop implementation plans, and identify project risks and resource requirements
  • Serve as a technical advisor to innovation teams and project managers, translating experimentation and evaluation needs into secure, scalable lab requirements and service capabilities
  • Provide guidance on lab offerings, supported platforms, technical constraints, and effective use of the lab environment
  • Administer and support Windows, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform environments used by lab customers
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues involving operating systems, endpoint platforms, cloud services, connectivity, proxy services, identity, compatibility, and platform integrations
  • Analyze high-impact outages to strengthen processes, procedures, controls, and long-term platform reliability
  • Design, develop, test, automate, and document infrastructure solutions using Agile development practices
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, or similar tools where appropriate
  • Create and maintain knowledge articles, technical procedures, operational documentation, and service standards
  • Support risk and control activities by adhering to established policies, procedures, and operational standards
  • Recommend cost-effective courses of action that support business and operational outcomes
  • Collaborate with peers, colleagues, managers, and third-party vendors to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Partner with senior infrastructure engineers on larger-scale platform enhancements, new offerings, lifecycle work, and service improvements

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting Windows/Linux Server platform

Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong customer-facing skills with experience serving as a technical advisor to engineering, architecture, and project teams
  • Experience supporting enterprise environments across on-premises, cloud, SaaS, end-user computing, and hybrid platforms
  • Hands-on experience with Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, virtualization, compute, storage, networking, identity, security, and endpoint technologies
  • Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, Kubernetes, container-based technologies, Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform; multi-cloud experience preferred
  • Experience evaluating, integrating, and operationally supporting emerging technologies, AI/ML platforms, enterprise SaaS solutions, innovation labs, proof-of-concept programs, sandbox environments, or pre-production testing platforms
  • Experience supporting enterprise networking, identity, proxy services, secure connectivity, access management, endpoint management, or infrastructure automation
  • Ability to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and operational processes using PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, or similar tools
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, problem-solving, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Self-motivated team player with technical curiosity, adaptability, attention to detail, and a passion for learning emerging technologies
  • Relevant cloud, infrastructure, virtualization, endpoint management, or security certifications are a plus; demonstrated hands-on experience is valued most
