Who We Need:

We're building our founding Product Design team in NYC and San Francisco. You'll own the full design lifecycle, from research to UI, working directly with product and engineering leadership to redefine accounting software. This is a rare opportunity to establish design foundations, build our design system from scratch, and shape how financial professionals interact with our platform daily. As a founding designer, you'll have end-to-end ownership, autonomy to drive high-impact decisions quickly, and direct influence on how we work as we scale.

We operate a hybrid work model with 2-3 days per week in our New York City or San Francisco Bay Area office. We're looking for teammates who value building strong working relationships through regular face-to-face collaboration and are based in (or willing to relocate to) NYC or the SF Bay Area.

What You'll Do:

• Own the full design process: user research, flows, wireframes, and UI design

• Partner with product and engineering to shape tactical roadmaps and long-term vision

• Establish design principles and build Rillet's design system

• Lead user research initiatives and translate insights into delightful experiences

• Invent new interaction paradigms that reimagine finance and accounting workflows

• Recruit and mentor future design team members

• Stay hands-on, you'll be shipping designs, not just directing them

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years in product-driven B2B SaaS, leading end-to-end design projects

• Deep experience with complex systems, you can visualize intricate financial concepts and translate them into intuitive interfaces

• Track record of challenging assumptions and pulling inspiration from unexpected places

• Strong communicator who can influence cross-functional partners and connect with customers

• Bonus: You've led both design strategy and a design team
