We're looking for a highly strategic, growth-oriented VC & Startup Ecosystem Marketing Lead to build our partnership and marketing motion with top VCs across the globe, with the objective of driving adoption of MongoDB and Voyage AI among the startups building today's most important AI products. This is a 0 → 1 role, where you'll write the playbook for how MongoDB for Startups works with VCs and own the results. The role is currently an individual contributor position that will work closely with the MongoDB for Startups, MongoDB Ventures, Revenue Marketing, Partner Marketing, and Customer Advocacy teams.

Position Expectations
  • Build and run our VC partnership and marketing motion: Develop relationships with high-value VCs across tiers, and build the playbook for engaging their portfolios, including programs, executive engagement, and founder-focused programming. Create the tiering and intake methodology that decides which VCs we prioritize, and scale it globally
  • Own referral performance: Set goals and report on referrals of top-tier startups from VCs, from first referral through activation and consumption
  • Serve as MongoDB's primary liaison to VC partners: Represent MongoDB to VC partners across all regions, and support flagship executive moments where partnership credibility matters
  • Build and run VC-focused events: Plan and deliver events for VC partners and their portfolio founders, such as founder dinners, portfolio workshops, and partner summits, in our hub cities and alongside flagship ecosystem moments. Work with the events and regional teams on execution, and tie each event to referral and pipeline outcomes
  • Align execution across teams: Work with Program Operations, Startup & Venture Marketing (acquisition and content), and regional teams so strategy translates into execution
The right candidate for this role will be:
  • 8+ years in partner-facing marketing or program building across technology or cloud partners, startups, VCs, or accelerators
  • An existing network among VCs and/or top technology partners that you can put to work from day one
  • A record of building pipeline or funnel motions with measurable results
  • Experience building programs from scratch with a small team
  • Executive presence, with experience representing a company at flagship ecosystem events or in front of senior stakeholders
  • Experience driving initiatives from strategy to measurable pipeline outcomes across stakeholders who don't report to you
  • Ability to work independently with a globally distributed team
