Compensation Range

The base pay scale for this position is $27.47 - $41.90. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.What you will be doing

Leave Coordinator

Hybrid - NYC


The Leave Coordinator is a member of the Leave Management Unit within the Employee Relations team. Coordinating with our third-party leave administrator to confirm leave status, duration, and details, the person in this role ensures timely and accurate communication with employees and vendors, oversees entry of time and pay data for HSS employees on leave of absence, and resolves or escalates issues as appropriate. The Leave Coordinator also assists with HSS’ Reasonable Accommodation process.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Once approved, create new leave case in our timekeeping system (Kronos Dimensions)
  • Enter time and payroll into the timekeeping system, timely and accurately, for employees on approved leaves of absence, partnering with internal and external parties where appropriate
  • Advise managers and/or timekeepers on leave-related time code inquiries
  • Maintain leave records with accuracy in accordance with department requirements
  • Respond to employee inquiries about leave policies, claim status, or time and pay while on leave, and directs or escalates to appropriate resources
  • Pull leave of absence reports; assist in identifying trends and areas for improvement
  • Calculate, track, and enter donated sick and/or vacation time
  • Collect incoming leave of absence mail and fax correspondence
  • Check the Reasonable Accommodation mailbox daily, taking on Accommodation cases directly, or assigning to/working with Manager, Leave Administration
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of medical and personal information in accordance with HIPAA policies and procedures


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of one year of working in a leave of absence administration or payroll role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Outlook
  • Experience working in HR Systems - Workday (HRIS) and Kronos (Timekeeping) a plus
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Impeccable attention to detail and follow-through
  • Customer-service oriented, projecting a positive attitude and a solutions-focused mindset
  • Collaborative, with proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex information in a simple and understandable way
  • Adaptable, able and willing to adapt to different approaches
  • Healthcare experience a plus
