Trueline is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to join their team in Midtown Manhattan. This role is crucial for providing comprehensive administrative and technical support to multiple attorneys.
What You'll Do as the Legal Assistant:
- Manage daily administrative tasks for up to five attorneys
- Produce and edit complex legal documents using various software applications
- Handle phone communications and general office support duties
- Assist with expense reports, invoices, and time entry
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for software applications
- Stay current with technology updates and attend mandatory training sessions
- Collaborate with word processing centers and legal staff across multiple offices
Must-Haves as the Legal Assistant:
- 3+ years of experience in word processing or legal secretarial work at a law firm
- Typing speed of at least 70 wpm
- Advanced proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with document management systems
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions
Nice-To-Haves as the Legal Assistant
- Knowledge of graphics programs or desktop publishing software
- Familiarity with specialized legal software such as Nuance, Visio, or iScrub
- Additional college education or technical training
- Experience with HP and Xerox printers and scanners
