Legal Coordinator / Paralegal

Location: New York, NY - Midtown Manhattan, Fashion District

Reports To: General Counsel


Position Summary

This role involves providing paralegal support to G-III’s General Counsel and in-house legal team in connection with all matters handled by the legal team. The G-III legal team supports the global wholesale and retail businesses across all functions, including commercial agreements, intellectual property matters, litigation, licensing and distribution, privacy and compliance, corporate governance, advertising and marketing, as well as other matters. This role will also be a key part of managing legal operations, including by assisting in updating and developing the legal department technology suite, including contract lifecycle management (CLM) software and processes.


Key Responsibilities

Provide support to G-III’s General Counsel and in-house legal team including:

  • Coordination of documents and information needed for intellectual property filings, including trademark and copyright registrations and customs recordals.
  • Manage all legal operations platforms (Legal Tracker, HighQ) to optimize legal operations, including by adding in use of AI tools and other updates.
  • Assist in updating and developing the legal department technology suite, including contract lifecycle management (CLM) software, and training teams on legal technology tools.
  • Manage contract execution process as well as the contracts database and post-execution contract administration matters
  • Communicate and coordinate with business partners regarding deadlines and renewals
  • Provide support in drafting of commercial agreements
  • Support anti-counterfeiting initiatives, compliance and training initiatives
  • Assist with corporate governance matters and filings for US and global subsidiaries
  • Support for litigation and insurance matters, including information and document gathering, review and organization and tracking
  • Coordinate implementation of legal initiatives both inside the department and within the broader company
  • Assist with processing and tracking of legal invoices through Legal Tracker software
  • Leverage executive presence and professional poise to engage directly with Senior Management as needed
  • Provide general administrative support to General Counsel and other duties as may be required or assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Paralegal certificate a plus
  • 2 - 4 years experience working in a law firm or in-house legal department

Required Skills/Knowledge

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, document management software, and other software programs
  • Experience with legal contract management software and other legal technology tools
  • Flexibility and initiative to learn new technologies, including AI
  • Excellent judgment and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information discreetly and professionally
  • Ability to build relationships of trust with the legal team and business partners
  • Ability to balance long term projects with short term daily needs
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, assist multiple attorneys, and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment

Salary:

$70,000 – $80,000 per year ($33.66 – $38.47 per hour, based on a 40-hour work week)
