About the Role

We’re expanding the legal team at Flow and looking for a pragmatic and commercial legal counsel to serve as a key partner to our business teams on corporate matters, commercial contracts, and more. As part of a growing legal team, you also may be called on to help in other areas as well, such as permitting and operational legal issues in our communities.

Responsibilities

  • Structure, draft, review, analyze, negotiate, and interpret a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor agreements, construction and design agreements, events agreements and marketing agreements
  • Partner closely with business teams to pair legal strategy to business strategy
  • Maintain our complex corporate structure across Florida, Delaware, and international subsidiaries, including drafting written consents, officer certificates, board resolutions, and maintaining our entity org chart
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on litigation, permitting, and regulatory matters
  • Support landlord-tenant legal operations, including by overseeing lease compliance, resident dispute escalations at the property level, and acting as a business partner to our building general managers
  • Provide support on general corporate, employment, and construction matters as needed

Ideal Background

  • 2–4 years’ experience in general corporate, ECVC or commercial work at a top firm, or comparable in-house experience at a real estate operating company, PropTech startup, or other high-growth and/or venture-backed company
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for organization
  • Exposure to multi-entity corporate structures and subsidiary governance a plus
  • Self-starter who can manage agreements through their entire life cycle
  • Flexible, creative and able to set and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Must be admitted to practice law and remain in good standing with the state bar in the jurisdiction where the position is based (Florida or New York)
