Noom is looking for an exceptionally talented Senior Counsel, Product & Privacy to join our lean but growing legal team. You’ll be an early, foundational member of the product counseling function, acting as subject matter expert and point of contact for one or more product lines at Noom.  You’ll support Noom’s teams working on our Weight, Mood, healthcare or international products with their legal and compliance needs, giving advice and making sure that Noom is complying with applicable privacy and regulatory regimes. You’ll work directly with our AGC, as well as with senior leaders from across the company.

What you’ll be doing:

• Serve as a lead advisor for Noom’s Growth, Product, and Engineering teams, helping build scalable and effective processes for legal review and launch of new products while balancing user and policy considerations

• Provide legal advice across a variety of subject areas, including consumer protection laws, data protection/privacy laws, intellectual property law, healthcare laws and regulations, spam and other global legal frameworks

• Partner cross-functionally to identify and evaluate business and legal risks and find creative ways to mitigate them while achieving business goals and pursuing opportunities to scale

• Stay up-to-date on product and growth experiments and developments; regularly meet with cross-functional teams to maintain alignment 

• Develop strategies to scale legal support as business grows

Your background:

• 6+ years of product counseling, privacy, or comparable experience
• At least 2 years of in-house experience at a fast-paced technology company
• Expertise in US and international regulatory issues, namely privacy and healthcare technology
• Demonstrated experience partnering with and providing timely support to in-house business clients
• JD from accredited U.S. law school; licensed in good standing with a state bar
• Experience developing creative solutions to navigate complex legal issues to both protect the company and drive Noom’s business forward
• Has the ability to prioritize and manage multiple matters simultaneously in a fast-paced,  entrepreneurial, rapidly scaling environment 
• Creative thinker who is comfortable with change and ambiguity, and is able to bring a first principles approach to building scalable processes
• Able to manage stakeholder requests and expectations, and balance the requirements of internal teams, compliance needs, and external stakeholders 
• Able to communicate clearly and productively with non-legal stakeholders
