As an Associate within RSM’s Life Sciences Management Consulting practice, you will support project teams that help middle market Life Sciences organizations solve complex business and operational challenges. You will work alongside experienced consultants and leaders in a collaborative, fast‑growing, and agile environment, gaining exposure to a wide range of client engagements across the Life Sciences value chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support client assessments by gathering and analyzing data, documenting processes, and synthesizing insights to help define current‑state operations
  • Assist in developing recommendations and implementation plans to improve operational, quality, or regulatory outcomes
  • Create and maintain client deliverables, including analyses, presentations, process maps, and documentation
  • Participate in client meetings, interviews, and workshops, serving as a reliable team member on engagements
  • Communicate effectively with internal engagement teams and client stakeholders to support timely project delivery
  • Manage assigned workstreams or tasks, prioritizing responsibilities to meet project timelines
  • Support engagement leadership with proposal development, research, and internal initiatives as needed

The ideal Associate will have exposure to some (but not all) of the following areas and a willingness to continue learning:

  • Experience supporting Life Sciences, manufacturing, quality, or regulated environments (MedTech, Biotech, or Pharma)
  • Exposure to process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), or quality-related documentation
  • Familiarity with quality management concepts, audits, or compliance activities (FDA or internal)
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing operations or quality systems
  • Experience supporting initiatives related to process improvement, quality management, or operational effectiveness
  • Exposure to digital systems such as QMS, MES, or LIMS is a plus

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of professional consulting experience or relevant Life Sciences industry experience
  • Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills, with the ability to gather facts, analyze data, and support problem solving
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Client‑service mindset with the ability to build positive working relationships
  • Willingness and ability to travel 25%+, as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, life sciences, or a related field (biomedical, chemical, mechanical, industrial, etc.)
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement concepts
  • Basic project management experience or certification coursework
  • Foundational knowledge of U.S. or global Life Sciences regulatory environments
  • Interest in long‑term growth within management consulting and Life Sciences advisory

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $66,100 - $117,200
