The Role & Team:

As a Lifecycle Marketing Manager, you’ll help develop and execute strategies that guide audiences through the user journey, with a focus on growing engagement and building a loyal subscriber base.

This role supports key company goals by driving engagement and subscription growth through the execution of email marketing campaigns and lifecycle initiatives. Working closely with the product team, you’ll contribute to efforts that improve user acquisition and retention, while coordinating cross-functional projects and supporting day-to-day campaign execution. You will also play an important role in optimizing existing email and retention programs and helping bring new growth initiatives to life.

The Marketing Manager reports directly to the Associate Director of Lifecycle and sits on the Growth Marketing, Subscriptions team. This position is based in our New York City HQ with a periodic in-office presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of email marketing campaigns across the full user journey, including lifecycle programs, newsletters, alerts, and one-off campaigns. Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices to help improve performance over time.
  • Use data, insights, and segmentation to build and optimize lifecycle marketing campaigns that are relevant and personalized, supporting audience growth and engagement.  
  • Work cross-functionally with Editorial, Product, and Analytics teams to support initiatives that drive engagement, improve retention, and increase subscriber conversions.  
  • Audit and monitor the performance of existing email programs, identifying opportunities for improvement across campaigns and lifecycle journeys. Run A/B tests to evaluate different strategies and tactics, and use data-driven insights to recommend optimizations that improve engagement, conversions, and overall business outcomes.

The Ideal Candidate Has:

  • 4+ years of experience in lifecycle, retention, or email marketing, with a track record of supporting successful campaigns.
  • Hands-on experience executing email marketing campaigns, including automated, triggered, and one-off sends, with a focus on driving engagement and conversions.
  • Familiarity with ESPs and lifecycle marketing tools, such as Iterable or similar platforms.
  • Strong interest in lifecycle and retention marketing, with a willingness to learn and stay up to date on industry trends and email marketing best practices.
  • Comfortable working with data to evaluate performance, segment audiences, and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple projects at once.
  • Experience in subscription-based business models is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and email coding best practices is preferred.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Base salary: $85,000 - $100,000 (dependent on skills, experience, and competencies)
