Description:

Strategy Team Intro
At Lippincott, the Strategy team takes on the problems that have no clear answer but need one—the launches, pivots, and reinventions that demand original ideas and proven expertise. Our work spans three disciplines: brand strategy, marketing and customer strategy, and naming. Together with Design and Experience colleagues across the firm, we help clients navigate their biggest challenges, from rising above competitive noise, to uncovering new frontiers for growth, to crafting the signature moments that make a brand unmistakable. You'll advise leaders across markets and industries, bringing rigorous creativity and dynamic energy to every opportunity—the same spirit that's helped Lippincott shape icons, disruptors, and category-creators since 1943.

Role Overview
Brand strategy is a discipline within Lippincott's Strategy practice, and it starts with some of the hardest questions a company can ask: what do we actually stand for, and why should anyone care? But meaning only counts when it's built, requiring brand strategists to work at the highest altitude and the finest detail, shaping the argument for a company's place in the world, then following it down into the words, structures, and signature moments that make it real. Done well, a brand isn't just an idea a company holds, but an asset that wins customers, commands premiums, and compounds in value over time.

As a Consultant, you're here to learn the craft by doing it. You won't be expected to have the answers on day one. But you will be expected to bring a genuine interest in brand strategy, ask sharp questions, and develop a real point of view, all while growing rapidly through hands-on coaching from people who've done this for decades. On any given day, you might be helping name a pioneering AI offering, repositioning the story of a major airline, or shaping a brand campaign for a leading cancer hospital. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with the brightest minds in the business, building the muscles—research, analysis, storytelling—that the rest of your career will be built on.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and decode complex business and creative challenges alongside your team

  • Bring your point of view to creative brainstorms and client meetings

  • Analyze client business dynamics, brand experiences, and the competitive landscape to surface implications for a client's brand

  • Flex your written voice in brand manifestos, creative concepts, and messaging

  • Research customer needs and brand perceptions through interviews, focus groups, and surveys

  • Help build presentations with clear, persuasive stories grounded in qualitative and quantitative insight

  • Learn how strategy interconnects brand, marketing, and experience

  • Support project management — circulating notes, tracking priorities, keeping the team's work moving

What Makes You a Great Candidate

  • Equal parts head and heart — a blend of rigorous analysis and bold creativity

  • Curiosity about brand trends and the business strategies behind them

  • The ability to tell a clear story, whether writing, building slides, or presenting

  • Comfort with ambiguity and a structured approach to open-ended problems

  • A knack for distilling complex research into pointed recommendations

  • Strong organizational skills and a methodical approach to your work

  • A growth mindset and a real appetite for discovering new ways to solve problems

  • Openness to different perspectives, with early signs of leadership and collaboration

  • Proficiency in PowerPoint; Excel skills are also appreciated

  • Brand/marketing internship and/or coursework experience is a plus

  • Openness to travel as needed

  • A desire to build and learn side-by-side with your teams

Eligibility

  • Be a college senior receiving your bachelor's degree in spring or summer of 2027

  • Have a GPA of 3.5 or higher

  • Have unrestricted eligibility to work in the United States

Instructions for your Application
Materials required for your application:
Please submit a resume and cover letter with your online application. Your cover letter must address the following questions in 500 words or less:

  • Why are you interested in a career in branding

  • What would be a dream brand for you to work on and why?

Please refrain from using AI to generate your cover letter. We’re not looking for perfection – we’re much more interested in hearing your voice, what you have to say, and how you choose to say it.

Please note, any application received without a cover letter will not be put forward for consideration.

Timeline

  • The final date to apply for this position will be September 15, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET.
